    Elite controller 3.5mm jack issues


    I've had my elite controller less than a month and use the headphone jack on it for sound instead of my tv. The headphone jack is very temperamental about when it wants to work, a fair few times it'll work flawlessly for ages with no issues, sometimes i
    can lose sound with the slightest of movements, occasionally losing sound with no movement, and spend ages trying to get it back. Sometimes a pair of headphones will work and another pair wont and vice versa with the same pairs, other times when i plug headphones
    in, nothing will happen for a while and then suddenly it'll recognise that there are headphones in. Would this be an issue with my headphones, the jack on the controller or the software?

    Thanks for letting us know you're experiencing an issue with your Elite controller. Based on what you've stated about your 3.5mm headphone jack not working, I would like to know if you have done the

    troubleshooting steps for the Elite controller     from our Xbox support page? Or rather, how you came to the conclusion (what troubleshooting you have done) that the 3.5mm jack has stopped working?

    If you have already done all troubleshooting and are certain that the headphone jack is no longer working, then I recommend

    setting up a repair for your Elite controller     since the headphone jack is an internal part of the controller body.

    can i use logitech pc h151 for partychat?

    i have model 2015 controller,i have a 3.5mm jack port,so if i want to buy logitech pc h151 which has only 1 3.5mm jack will it work directly plugged in controller?

    I came to the conclusion it is a synching issue between the controller and X1. It hasn't happened in a few months since I resynced my controllers. But it seemed to happened only with the controllers with out the 3.5mm Jack. My Elite controller and newer
    one with the. 3.5 mm Jack. My older 2 controllers broke. The LB/RB buttons broke.

    Sorry to hear about your issue. The 3.5mm jack on the controller may be malfunctioning. You can bypass the 3.5mm jack with an adapter for your headset or try a different controller.

    Thanks everyone. Since I was smart enough to get insurance on the controller, it worked out. The 3.5mm jack was jacked up,,, I got the money to get another controller. Not sure how the 3.5mm jack became faulty, but a new controller fixed all those issues.

    The original Xbox One controllers didn't include a 3.5mm jack. You mentioned that you were using a newer controller and as that will have a 3.5mm jack, it may be possible that the problem you are having with your headset is related to that following the
    recent Dashboard update. Unfortunately it appears that Microsoft have introduced an incompatibility between consoles and controllers using the 3.5mm jack.

    You may be able to use a stereo headset adapter or chatpad to workaround the issue as the 3.5mm jacks on those devices don't appear to be affected.
