    Elite Controller 2 Repair Frustration

Hi All, Coming to the forum community for the first time to see if someone can help me out of this frustration loop I'm currently in.

Just to add I have called Xbox support twice now and on both occasions I've been placed on hold for 20 minutes, and then disconnected. Appreciate everyone is busy but a call back for an open case would have been appreciated.

I've been playing with a replacement Elite 2 Wireless controller since July last year and it is now experiencing issues where a bumper will not work, and the left thumbstick click will not always register.

So I visited https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/forms/controller-warranty as advised to check my warranty.

Great, your controller is in warranty

    Activation date: 17/07/2020

    Last connected: 05/01/2021

However when I click to request a warranty replacement the form will not load and I get the message

    "login.microsoftonline.com refused to connect."

As such I have tried to use the automated chat - which takes me back to the form. So I have called and on my last call I was informed my controller was out of warranty according to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/

I asked the CSR why one site advised it was in warranty whilst the other advised it had expired. I also questioned whether the controller I have now is a refurbished unit and therefore https://account.microsoft.com/devices/ is giving me the original expiry
date whereas https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/forms/controller-warranty is giving me a year warranty based upon the re-issue.

This is where I was placed on hold again, unfortunately to be hung up upon again.

Sorry for the long winded intro - I guess my question is "How long is the warranty on a replacement elite controller?" is it 6 or 12 months?

    Thanks in advance, Bumsie

    :)

Xbox controller Elite series 2 disconnecting issues

My Elite version 2 controller has never disconnected but the internal battery will NOT charge. It is a brick unless it is plugged in with the USB wire or sitting on the charging dock. when plugged in or on charging dock the white LED light blinks but never
goes to a solid light even after 10 hours sitting on the charge dock. I've never seen the LED light go to color "amber" to signify it has a low battery. 180$ for a wired controller less than 8 months old.

I contacted support they told me it would bee 100$ to REPAIR!! because my 90 day warranty was up lol. 90 days for a controller they say "should last a lifetime".....

oh and option #2 they sent me a link to buy an Xbox "play and charge kit" ...lol for an Elite Series 2. The Elite Series 2 that has an INTERNAL BATTERY!

I am beyond pissed off and I get everyone's frustrations on this thread. This is all after going through 4 series 1 elite controllers.

To me it's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft wont at the least repair these controllers that are defective. Not broken but defective. And I mean repair for free or shipping charge ONLY.

    Elite controller 2 repair

    Hi Kavakavazevualana,

I would get in contact with UPS, the package could be stuck in transit somewhere, also with the corona virus pandemic going around, there could be problems with the speed of the mail system, I'd also put in a support ticket to Microsoft just to make sure
    something just isn't reporting properly

Instead I feel like I was robbed off $180.
    We both were.

I hope you get help, but I doubt it. I have an Elite 2 Controller RB button that stopped functioning consistently this summer and found that the warranty was up. Now they have extended the warranty but the Device Service and repair page tells me they can't
continue with my order and to Contact Us (link).

The Contact Us link only allows me to go to a Virtual Assistant chat which tells me that the warranty is up, directly contradicting the other page. So, it's all a dead end. An "extended" warranty that doesn't actually get honored because there is no avenue
    to pursue it.

I've put up with terrible hardware from this company for too long and I am done.

-2 red ring 360's meant I was dumb enough to buy a third.

-Launch XBox One that never worked properly (wouldn't read standard DVDs) meant I was dumb enough to buy a XBox One X when they went on sale late in the generation.

-Spending on the Elite 2 controller for only a few months of use before it became crippled was the last straw.

Going to sit out the Series X/S and play PC Gamepass games until my subscription runs out.

During the current medical crisis, shipping and deliveries have been affected. The normal timeline might be affected in getting your package to the facility, the facility acknowledging its arrival, and service being done, the system being updated or a combination
thereof. You might want to call the service desk of the parcel carrier to verify the package is being delivered or get more information on why it has not been yet.

It is frustrating, I know, but with the current situation in the world, I would urge further patience in the matter. The parcel carrier might be able to provide more information on its status.

Headset stops working and controller stops responding

I see, it's not, indeed. But Microsoft offers repair services for the Elite 2 controllers. But you have the option to take it to a repair store also, for them to analyze your controller, it might be a hardware issue indeed. :/
