Elite 2 keeps disconnecting from xbox one x

Thank you for bringing you question to the Xbox forum for assistance with trying to get answers to help you with your controller problem. If you are finding that it is only staying connected by being wired then it is possible there could be a Bluetooth issue
with the controller. If it is fully charged and is also fully updated then I would check if it is still with in its warranty period with where you got it from.

I have read articles of other gamers having the same issue and they chose to keep it wired rather then replace though this is a decision for yourself to look into.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand your Elite controller keeps disconnecting. We recommend trying to update the controller. Sometimes the check for update seems to sync the controller again.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your Elite 2 controller :/ Here's some questions/things you can try that might tell us more (totally understand that you probably can't try all of them):

1. Have you tried any other controllers with your Xbox and do they ever exhibit this issue (disconnecting while wireless)?
2. Does your Elite 2 controller have the same issue (disconnecting while on wireless) on other Xboxes?
3. Have you tried a hard reset on your Xbox just to rule that out?
4. Have you tried removing the batteries from the Elite 2 controller while disconnected from the cord? (like controller hard reset)
5. Have you checked to make sure the battery are seated firmly in the controller and that the back plate fits snugly?
6. Have you tried syncing your Elite 2 controller to another Xbox, and then re-syncing it back to your own Xbox?

Hopefully this will help us determine if it's your controller or Xbox that is causing the problem!

Ive had the baseline controllers for years and keep holding back from pulling the trigger (get it?) for an elite controller. When the series 2 came out, I was ready to go get one, but the fervor died off with reports of disconnecting.

Right now I’m still waiting to get an elite. I plan on it sometime this year, maybe with the Series X

This did not work, I also noticed that if I shut off the XBOX One X it disconnects this controller and I have to reconnect it on startup. This does not happen with my other controllers just the Elite series 2 one.. I'll request a replacement
