    Hi,

    I received a replacement controller today after I sent my "old" one in for a faulty LB button since it was still under warranty. I use the term "old" loosely because it failed after only 5 months of normal use (And I treated it very well, never dropped it
    or anything)...However, the "new" controllers' lettered buttons (A,B,X,Y) are ALL sticky.

    I understand there are troubleshooting techniques to fix sticky buttons, but all four of the buttons are sticky straight out of the box shipped to me. I'm really disappointed...The Elite 2's are very expensive controllers. My first one failed after 5 months,
    and my replacement is already in poor condition out of the shipping box?

    So my questions:

    Are the controllers sent as warranty replacements new? Or are they refurbished? (It should 100% be a brand new controller imo, these things are crazy expensive so the user should not be penalized for mechanical failures while under warranty)

    If I want to get this one replaced, do I need to create another service order? (I'm willing to do it, but I already paid for the express shipping on the first, so I feel like I'm kinda getting sucker punched by possibly having to send in another and pay
    for express shipping again or wait like 2 weeks for another to get here).

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, I love the controller when it's working right, but when its not its a huge bummer.

    They recently extended the warranty for elite 2 to one year. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/controller/elite-controller-series-2-warranty . maybe this will help

    Why doesnt Microsoft make their warranty as a 1 year or however long you bought and then 1 repair after that time period.

    Its 90 days after the free repair or the remainder of the warranty whichever is longer that's pretty standard

    At the cost of controllers nowadays you could buy one new unless you are talking about elites

    And controller warranty is 1 year from the date of purchase

    And this is why you buy extended warranty

    There is no 3 years on controllers

    Elites have 2 year warranties fyi

    Elite series 2 controller replacement

    Warranties cover a like for like replacement if required under that warranty so as far as I know, yes, if you send an Elite series 2 in for replacement you will receive an Elite series 2 back.

    This is the first I have heard of this on the new elite 2 controller. I have four elite controllers and no issues from manufacture defect. Hopefully, you get a good one under warranty and enjoy your gaming. Best wishes. ☺️

    I heard about this too and I was cautious in getting one. I needed a new controller since my elite controller grips were completely peeled off and the back paddle stop functioning. I ordered the series 2 with "WARRANTY". When I received it, it had no drift
    stick or bumper issues, worked perfectly.

    Get it with warranty when you get it, just to be safe.

    Your gaming level will improve a lot!
