Elite 2 controller charging dock

Hi.

Just got the elite 2 controller. Query about using the charging dock.

Controller charges fine with USB cable connected directly to controller and light flashes to show its charging or charged.

When using the charging dock it does not show any charging light? The controller vibrates OK when set on the dock but just no charge status light?

I tried it on various PC's and Xbox's and always the same scenario.

I left the controller in the dock overnight and next morning the charge light was on to show fully charged. I lifted the controller off and set back on and no light again.

Stating the obvious, yes the felt covering is removed and yes the contacts are perfectly clean etc.

I tried looking for more instruction guides or video tutirioals about this charge dock use but unable to find any further info.

Anyone else having this issue? Do I have a faulty dock or is the charge display light intermittant using the controller and dock?

I see, thanks again. What if I plug my phone wall charger to the official Xbox charging dock that came with the controller? (the one that fits inside the case).

The official Elite 2 Xbox charging dock says on the back that it outputs 5 volts at 0.55 amps (550 miliamps). So it should be safe to plug my wall charger into the dock and then charge my controller through the dock, right?

A charging dock is included with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Plug the USB-C cable into the back of the dock and then plug the other end into your console or PC. Once the dock is connected, gently place the controller onto it to begin charging.

Have you tried that?

My Elite version 2 controller has never disconnected but the internal battery will NOT charge. It is a brick unless it is plugged in with the USB wire or sitting on the charging dock. when plugged in or on charging dock the white LED light blinks but never
goes to a solid light even after 10 hours sitting on the charge dock. I've never seen the LED light go to color "amber" to signify it has a low battery. 180$ for a wired controller less than 8 months old.

I contacted support they told me it would bee 100$ to REPAIR!! because my 90 day warranty was up lol. 90 days for a controller they say "should last a lifetime".....

oh and option #2 they sent me a link to buy an Xbox "play and charge kit" ...lol for an Elite Series 2. The Elite Series 2 that has an INTERNAL BATTERY!

I am beyond pissed off and I get everyone's frustrations on this thread. This is all after going through 4 series 1 elite controllers.

To me it's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft wont at the least repair these controllers that are defective. Not broken but defective. And I mean repair for free or shipping charge ONLY.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how this could be pretty discouraging. Normally, I would suggest going through the steps once again to get your controller replaced as your replacement
controller should also have a 90 day warranty.

However, if you would like to refund it back to the vendor you purchased it from and it's doable, you can totally do so.
