    I have owned multiple xbox elite 1 controllers. Repairing the bumpers was standard fare, and I did this often, using third party parts. When I got stick drift, microsoft was kind enough to send me a replacement.

    When Elite 2 was unveiled, it was to great fanfare that the bumper issue was addressed.

    I got one on launch.

    While the mechanical element regarding the bumper appears fixed, (search elite 2 teardown) it turns out, there is a new, well documented, apparently electronic failure regarding the bumpers (search elite 2 bumper double clicking).

    The symptom is the bumper, (seems both left and right get this) will start registering double inputs. This makes numerous games unplayable. The end point of this event is the bumper will fail completely. Now it registers an input one in 10 presses.

    This failure is not amenable to a third party fix as far as I can tell.

    It is a known problem, highly documented, and on microsoft forums, an official response stating issues were being investigated. There has been no fix, only silence.

    Support is not helping. Can't speak to a person directly. Only an email that responds, no longer under warranty.

    This is a $180 controller. I really find this unacceptable

    Elite controller series 2 warranty

    If I send in my Xbox elite 2 to Microsoft can they fix the right bumper problem. I have already sent one Xbox elite 2 in and had the right bumper fixed and it lasted 2 weeks before having the same problem.

    I     tried to fill out repair order, but, as mentioned above, those are the only options i got.

    Bumper IS a known issue, as you can see.

    Btw., it doenst matter what caused 2 years warranty, it is in place and i'm in the right to use it.

    Gears of war 4 is coming, and now.. So am I.

    i've had 2 - horrible, Right bumper and left bumper went off. Now they have no more replacements for GoW4 LE Elite Controllers. Absolutely horrible that such a pricey product is made with such low quality.

    elite series 2 controller

    Used elite first gen for years and just got good at replacing broken bumpers. I had high hopes for the elite 2 but sadly my elite 2 right bumper clicks but doesnt register input most of the time after only 2 months.

    submitted warranty claim, and will have them replace it - but even though i prefer the feel of the sticks and triggers on the msft controller, i am switching to razor wolverine.

    not matter how good it feels if a contoller doesnt control, its worthless.
