    hi i have just bought an new elgato hd60 and a new laptop and want to record via my xbox one, laptop hits all elgato criteria but video and quality is poor, slow and glitchy have tried contacting elgato but no reply anyone any similiar probs or solutions

    Sorry, I mean that the Elgato requires power from a PC or Laptop before you see and hear your Xbox on your TV.

    If you aren't using your Elgato you need to unplug it. I keep mine plugged in and a laptop I use for broadcasting/recording is powered up whilst I play the Xbox.

    Do you have your Elgato connected to a powered on PC or laptop?

    If you aren't then the Xbox won't connect to your TV.

    The Elgato relays the display and audio to your TV from your Xbox but it needs power and it gets that from a PC USB connection.

    Xbox One not loading after changing display output

    Guys i got it fixed. It appeared to be since i have always used an elgato recording device to connect my xbox to my tv that when i clicked hdmi manual it was trying to connect the screen output through one hdmi cable. Since three cables are used when connecting
    the elgato (one to xbox, one to tv, and one to pc) it didnt know which screen to load. Upon disconnecting the elgato and just using a single cable, the screen showed up and i was able to fix my settings. Thanks for all the help.
