Electrical buzzing noise xbox one x

Bought a one x special edition that came with battlefield 5. When plugged in there is an audible electrical buzzing noise coming from the console itself. Even when powered off. No I am not using insta on and yes it happens at different outlets in the
house.

Hmm, maybe something wrong with the day one controllers, mine seems to be getting louder, I called xbox support and they are sending out a new day one controller. Hopefully that one doesn't make any electrical buzzing noise.

Just curious glad i am not the only one. Anyone know what those red blinking lights are at the top of the controller?

this sounds a lot like coil whine. It's not exactly a concern but it can be annoying. is the noise high pitched?

 

It's not like squealy high pitched like a dog whistle but my dad had a hard time hearing it. It sounds distinctly electrical. Does not sound like a fan to me

I returned my console to best buy and they exchanged it. New console is silent . Clearly something wrong with old one. Friends agreed with other commenter that it sounds like coil whine

I'm glad to hear an exchange of the console has resolved the issue. Coil whine is generally pretty rare but it's just a result of the electromagnetic waves being produced by the internal components that creates an audible acoustic noise that can be fairly
annoying if you have good hearing. Either way, we are happy your new Xbox is not making any noise.
