Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for Xbox One FAQ

Greetings, heroes of Tamriel! We are extremely excited for the upcoming release of Elder Scrolls Online on Xbox One, and we hope each of you are just as excited! To prepare you for the fight to control the Ruby Throne and destroy Molag Bal, we have prepared
an FAQ covering everything you need to know!

We will update here with more information as it becomes available!

Q: What type of game is Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited?

A: Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is a massive multiplayer online role playing game from the folks over at Zenimax Online. The game takes place in Tamriel, a continent divided by three different alliances that are fighting to take the throne in
    the Imperial City.

While the battle for the throne continues, Tamriel and its divided kingdoms face a much darker threat. The Daedric Prince Molag Bal, God of Schemes, seeks to unleash the Oblivion realm onto the inhabitants of Tamriel.

Q: Is there any differences between the console and PC version?

A: Nope! The content that is currently available for PC will be included in the Xbox One version when it is released.

Q: What's different about Elder Scrolls Online compared to the previous games in the series?

A: Elder Scrolls Online is very similar to the previous games. You can adventure through massive landscapes and level up the character you want to play. You can still slaughter Mudcrabs or get called 'criminal scum' after you commit a crime (yes, you can
even steal!). The biggest difference with Elder Scrolls Online is that you can share that sense of adventure with massive amounts of players like you as you explore all of Tamriel.

Elder Scrolls Online takes place long before the events of the previous games, during the second era. To give you a better idea, Elder Scrolls Online takes place over 2,000 years before the events in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Q: What are the different factions I can choose from?

A: Here are the details of the Alliances you can choose from:

    • Daggerfall Covenant: Comprised of the two Provinces of northwest Tamriel: High Rock and Hammerfell, home to the Bretons and the Redguards. This Covenant has also allowed the Orcs to return to their ancient homeland of Orsinium as long as
they fight by their side. Working together, the three races have formed a powerful alliance that aims to restore the Second Empire and bring peace and prosperity back to Tamriel.
    • Aldmeri Dominion: Located in southern Tamriel, The Aldmeri Dominion is composed of the three races: the Wood Elves of Valenwood, the Khajiit of Elsweyr and the leaders of the Dominion, the High Elves of the Summerset Isles. This alliance
fights to bring back the Elven dominance in Tamriel.
    • Ebonheart Pact: The Ebonheart Pact controls the northern and eastern regions of Tamriel. Once enemies, the Nords, Dark Elves, and Argonians have banded together to restore stability to the Empire and ensure their own self-government and
      freedom.
For more information on the races that belong to each Alliance, check out The Official Elder Scrolls Online page!

Q: What are the classes I can play as?

A: There are 4 classes in Elder Scrolls Online, but keep in mind that your character is what you make of it. Any class can use any weapon type, any class of armor, and you have a wide variety of spells to customize your character with. Think of these four
classes as a starting point for the character you decide to build.

    • Templar: A damage and healing hybrid class that focuses on summoning the power of light to heal your allies and smite anyone who gets in your way.
    • Dragon Knight: A damage and protection hybrid class in which you can draw the power of Dragons to lay fiery ruin on the battlefield and summon shields of earth to protect your friends.
    • Sorcerer: A magic damage class with the ability to summon Daedric minions and push the boundaries of magical power.
    • Nightblade: A melee and magic damage hybrid class that combine deadly mastery of stealth with shadow magic to silently eliminate enemy's.
Q: I love having the ability to craft items for my friends. Are there professions in Elder Scrolls Online?

A: Yup! Here is a list of professions you can specialize in:

    • Alchemy: Craft Potions that provide special bonuses to your character
    • Blacksmithing: Craft weapons and heavy armor
    • Clothier: Craft light armor
    • Enchanting: Enchant items to improve weapons or armor
    • Provisioning: Allows you to cook food that provides character enhancements along with healing
    • Woodworking: Craft bows, staves, and shields
Professions add a lot to Elder Scrolls Online, and is a great source for making some coin so be sure to keep an eye out for crafting stations located around the city!

Q: Will there be player versus player combat?

A: Yes! PvP plays a huge role in Elder Scrolls Online. Elder Scrolls Online's PvP is very rewarding, but is still accessible to veterans of PvP combat and to those who have never tried PvP in an MMO before. Whoever ranks the highest among players in PvP
will be crowned as the Emperor, and their alliance will rule all of Tamriel.

Q: Do I need to be a higher level to be able enjoy PvP and be able to stand a chance?

A: Nope! Elder Scrolls Online features a battle leveling system that scales a player's combat effectiveness to compete against higher level players. Once you reach level 10, you are ready to get out there and fight! With hundreds of players battling all
at once, no one will have an unfair advantage!

Q: What is the level cap?

A: The highest level you can reach is 50, but your character's growth doesn’t end there. Elder Scrolls Online features a system where you can earn 'Champion points' to spend on various traits that will make your character even stronger.

Q: What else can I do after I hit level 50?

A: After completing the main story and reaching level 50, you can start diving into the veteran content. Here is a taste of what you can do at level 50:

    • Veteran dungeons - Higher level versions of dungeons you come across while leveling
    • 12-player Trials - Massive dungeons with challenging bosses
    • The Dragonstar Arena - Fight waves of enemies with a group of 4 players
    • Adventure Zones - Areas that unlock in Tamriel that you can adventure through in 4-player groups.
There is much more that awaits you after level 50; the above is just a taste!

    Q: What are crowns?

A: Crowns are a new "virtual currency" introduced with the release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. They can be used to purchase in-game items, services, and content via the Crown Store interface in the game. Crowns are
available for purchase separately and are also included as part of an ESO Plus membership.

You will be able to purchase crowns in the Xbox Store.

Q: Sounds like a big game..

A: It sure is, check out this Interactive Map of Tamriel!

Q: What are the different versions of Elder Scrolls Online I have to choose from?

A: You have 3 different versions to choose from! Keep in mind that no game subscription is required to play this game, but you will need to have Xbox Live Gold.

Standard Edition (Physical or Digital): $59.99

    Digital Imperial Edition: $79.99

Q: Is there anything else I need to play?

A: Yes, an online connection, an ESOTU account (you will be prompted to make one when you launch the game for the first time), and Xbox Live Gold is required to play Elder Scrolls Online.

Q: When will Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited release?

A: Elder Scrolls Online is expected to release on 6/9/2015.

Q: If I Pre-Order Elder Scrolls Online from the Xbox Store, when will I have access to the game?

A: If you Pre-Order from the Xbox Store, your copy of Elder Scrolls Online will immediately begin to download, but will not be playable until 04:01 AM UTC on the day of release.

Unfortunately there is nothing anyone on the forums can do.

You would need to contact support

as they are the only ones who have access to your billing/transaction info.

same problem here. no other bonus content on pre-orders for the xbox has worked like this, and tied to only one account. hopefully they will patch it.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

the items are tied to account/server so even on the same account you cant make a new character on a different server it wont work . its stupid but its basically only good for your main character/server. its not like buying DLC and it works on your account
its tied to one person on one server

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

They is no oceanic server for any platform. Its a decision made by the devs.

Apparently it come down to a mix the following: smaller population equals lower number of players, more restrictive laws/legislation, and of course cost.

I would complain in your place, and you should continue to do so - eventually oceanic players voices will be listened to.
