Elder Scrolls Online Requires Xbox Live Gold but Not PS Plus

I still need to complete Skyrim... The game is too time consuming.

I wish they would have gone and helped out the folks at EA/DICE when they launched Battlefield 4 ;-) ... But I'm not getting into the whole debate on who people think offers the better service, it's different for everyone.

Most of my friends/family whether on Xbox LIVE or PSN pay the yearly sub, so for the majority it's just a case whether they like the idea of paying a monthly fee for the game. I do have 3 friends on LIVE and 1 on PSN though that mainly play SP games, they don't
bother with the yearly subs so I still say it seems a bit unfair that those people on Xbox who want to play this have to go out and buy Gold?

I've not read too much into so I don't know who's idea it was, maybe it wasn't Microsoft? maybe it was the developers, either way though and again it just seems a bit unfair and I can totally understand why some people are not happy about it.

 

I blame Bethesda not MS, Live has always had a sub model. If MS start allowing some games to bypass that subs model then Live takes a hit as more and more games opt out and sell on the strength of not needing Gold. Bethesda could easily have taken the
Defiance route which was reasonably successful for an unknown title, given the fan base of the Elder Scrolls the same f2p model with in game transactions for gear would have been hugely popular IMHO. £8.99 a month is just greedy.

 

Why £9 a month though? Thats just greedy. £2 a month may have more people interested. Maybe they know this pricing plan will fail but want to maximise the revenue from people willing to pay before it goes f2p?

Mind you, 99% of MMOs promise regular substantial content and fail to follow up when they realise how much work it actually takes just to keep tweaking and fixing existing stuff.

 

Just Pre-ordered the Imperial edition at GAME. Such an awesome looking CE, I couldn't resist..

Would have to be alot of content for £9 a month. I will wait to see it fail then play it when its f2p. I have faith that it wont be too long.

I suppose if some people don't mind paying an extra £80 for slightly less powerful hardware, then they shouldn't be fussed about paying for gold on top of a £9 monthly subscription fee.

No one is paying for Gold on top it's the other way around. You were quite funny at first, that's worn off now. I'm happy that your happy with your choice stop constantly sniping at the rest of us. You have been around long enough to know better!
