Elder Scrolls Online payment to play?

I own the gold edition of ESO. I recently bought the Summerset expansion. I have 1 year of Xbox Live. I just tried playing it and its saying I need a game pass. I dont understand. Am I supposed to pay both Game Pass & Xbox Live to play? Is there anything
else I need in order to play? is there a subscription on top of that?

Anything would be greatly appreciated so I can play this game that I spent a lot of money on.

You don't need to buy the game and also have Game Pass, You Just need one of it.

 

I think You should do a Power Cicle on your Xbox, press and hold Power Button for 10 seconds and wait 2 minutes then turn Xbox on again. If It doesn't so You should talk to Xbox Support

Perhaps the issue here is that the system mixed up your owned copy for a game pass version. I would recommend trying the following steps one at a time to see if they help. Move on to the next step if the current one doesn't help.

1. Power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down

2. Delete your gamertag, power cycle then redownload

3. Delete the game, power cycle then redownload

4. Factory reset the console. There is an option to keep installed games and apps so you won't need to reinstall them.
