Does this game have the cool looking kill cam that was in skyrim?? you know when the camera goes to to 3rd person and you see a cinematic scene where you cut off the dudes head or something??
No I don't think it does.

The previous games were part of "The Elder Scrolls" series which was developed and published by Bethesda (Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim).

"The Elder Scrolls Online" is developed by Zenimax Online Studios who are a seperate developer even though they are all technically under the umbrella of Zenimax Media.

When I explained to my wife how the monthly sub worked she cannot believe anyone in their right mind would consider buying the game at full price and then pay a $15.00 monthly sub.

We'll see what payment models they offer because there is talk of you getting a discount if you commit to a long term subscription.

It's going to have to be a significant discount or Bethesda can get stuffed.
Millions and millions of people have paid full price for a game and then a monthly subscription for PC MMO's for more than a decade. With EQ and WoW depending on how soon you started after an expansion it could have cost you 80 bucks to get all the content.

The fact they are bringing this to the console is what's going to kill it. Console crowd won't pay the monthly sub and the PC crowd won't play it because it has been "dumbed down" for the controller. Willing to bet it'll be free to play in 6 months.

    :)

It does have a free month and for most mmo's I've played that's more than enough time to play it until it starts to get boring and like I stated above I'll easily get at least 100 hours in that month which is far more than i get from most games. And if
I'm not bored of it yet is be more than happy to pay the fee

I normally don't hope a game flops (even the ones I don't like) but I sure do hope this one does.

Why? How does it affect you? No ones making you buy it and from that comment you won't be buying it

@pkvas Because I don't want developers thinking that subscription models+$60 games fly on console. If it becomes profitable then other games will do it too. I could've easily seen Destiny and The Division having subscription models too. Basically, there
is the possibility of this popping up on a game I want in the future so I hope this game fails hard to show I don't want that. Nothing speaks louder than losing money.

  12. I'm not buying it with a subscription attached. Especially with it being released at full retail price, having micro transactions, and having a standard race held back to try and bump sales of their Imperial Edition. It doesn't really look to do anything
special either other than be in the Elder Scrolls Universe.

Especially if they're charging full game price AND having an in game SHOP.
It's an MMO, not a console developer studio. This means the servers aren't on Live, and require revenue to run. The monthly subscription, in-game shop, and disk sales (LE or not) are part of the revenue that goes to pay for the servers and team behind them.
It's completely independent of Microsoft/Sony (save for a small revenue share for Live connections).

    .

In other words: this game didn't have to come to the consoles at all. Be careful of complaining too much. People who wish for things often get them, to the chagrin the wish wasn't what they had intended.

    .

Looking forward to TESO. In fact, I'm so scared I may get hooked, I'll lose interest in other things. Elder scrolls online imperial edition :(

If this game is addictive and fun I don't have a problem paying $15 a month to play. I have 2 family members that live in different states and we 3 are going to hit this game hard. The art book and statue would be a nice addition also.

There could be changes made to make it more appealing. If they weren't asking for full game price for a start, but they are.

This game might be worth it if it was the only game you were gonna play... but if you've got a console, it's not.

You might say that putting it on a console is dumbing it down but the flip side is that the Console can turn this into an actual game instead of a "Point and Click Adventure" where the biggest challend you'll face is memorizing your 99 hot-key shortcuts
so you don't have to be burdened with actually controlling your character.

As far as the full game price, monthly sub and in game shop are concerned it's just not worth it.

Unless they have some serious discounts for subscriptions I hope this falls flat on it's face.
