Elder Scrolls Online ditches subscription fee!

so everyone's crybaby cheap selves got their way and now the game won't get the attention it actually needs to fix problems. gg way to let it die. i played 3 months on pc it was a great game, totally worth 15$ a month. maybe ppl should quit eating fast food
so much.

 

Quite liked the look of that vid, thanks Chemist. Will probably give this a go after seeing that, looks much better than the beta stuff I saw for PC, I pretty much wrote it off after that.

Yikes xCHEMISTx that does not look good at all.

Cynical move by Bethesda. They boasted that the success of "Skyrim" was beyond their wildest dreams.

Then thank fans by creating this pay to play tripe that suckers people into thinking they are getting "Skyrim Multiplayer".

At least it's no longer subscription based.

Some people might enjoy it and if it's the first MMO you get involved with at least future experiences can only get better.

Zenimax developed ESO, not Bethesda. Too many people are uninformed about this and take to blaming Bethesda for it being a bad game. They may have had a small part in its development, but most of the blame should go to Zenimax

It's their 'baby'.

That's why they are the publisher on "The Elder Scrolls Online" which is developed not by Zenimax but by Zenimax Online Studios.

They are both subsidiaries of Zenimax Media.

Bethesda Softworks are the Publisher of "The Elder Scrolls Online".

Even if Bethesda Softworks had never touched an "Elder Scrolls" game in their entire existence, claiming the game's Publisher has a negligable impact on the final product would be a daft thing to say.

Too many people are uninformed when they try to tell other people that they are uninformed.

 

I never said they had a negligible impact, I said they had a small part. And when I said Zenimax I meant Zenimax Online Studios, much like people mean Bethesda Softworks when they say Bethesda.

And as you pointed out, ZOS developed the game, keyword being "developed". As in created the graphical assets, wrote the story, mapped out dialogue, designed the combat mechanics, etc. Most of the problems people have with ESO is with the stuff ZOS did.

You can be mad at Bethesda for allowing the game to go to market while being below the standards that past Elder Scrolls games set, but at the end of the day, ZOS did the leg work.

Zenimax took what was made by Bethesda in Skyrim (gameplay,hud,visuals).

It should be called "Skyrim Online".

Skyrim is already below Elder scrolls/RPG standards.Taking off classes and no differences between races was a big mistake,at least for me....Morrowind is an old "souvenir".

 

I will get this still and pay the sub fee for the extra's I dont see why people are *** over the sub fee its a good thing to me and its honestly only an hours worth of my job so yeah lol.

 

I just re-subbed on PC and it has improved a lot since launch/beta. I will admit there were a lot of bugs/ minor issues with the game early on but they have fixed the game a lot from what I have noticed recently.

One thing to take into account with this game is the size of it. There are literally 100s of hours of content and the dialogue and story is fantastic. If you are the type of player who likes to quest and explore in mmos then you will love ESO.

 

I only have played Morrowind back in the days and it was a great game but I am not Elder Scrolls Fanatic.

However, I can't wait until this game Releases. I am really looking Forward to Play that with my buddies. The first real good mmorpg on consoles in my opinion.

The only thing that I am afraid of is the phasing. I hope playing this coop works better than it does right now for PC.
