Elder Scrolls Online constantly switching chat channel?

Hey folks! This is a really weird issue that I've never before encountered. Tonight, I hooked up my chat adapter (which works fine) and launched elder scrolls. The game loaded, I connected & loaded my character, and things loaded perfectly. When it loaded
it connected to the main chat channel, as usual, and worked like it always does.

Here's where it gets weird. I had received an invite to a guild from a friend. I went in and accepted the invite, at which point I heard a "gong" sound. I received a notice in the top right corner of the screen that my chat channel had changed to my guild
channel 1. I thought, "okay," but then, it kept giving me that same notice and "gong" sound every 5 seconds. I went into the Voice Chat menu and when I highlighted the main channel, it acted like it was connected and not connected simultaneously. The A button
for "Join" was greyed out with a 6-second countdown that just kept resetting. Likewise, the X button for "Leave channel" was also greyed out with a 6-second repeating countdown.

I then highlighted the Guild channel, and it, too, had a 6-second countdown by the A button. There was no X button for disconnect. At the end of every 6 seconds, the Join went white for a split second, then the timer reset and I got another "gong" sound
telling me my channel had changed.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the chat adapter, but that wasn't the issue because the problem didn't start until I accepted the guild invite. I also tried backing out and completely quitting the game. Upon loading the game, the issue recurs as soon
as the game world loads, the only difference being is that there is no longer a greyed out X for leave channel. It acts as though it won't join any channel now. The only thing I haven't done yet is a hard restart.

Any ideas? Could this be a problem with the guild? Or something in the settings? I'm at a loss, but I'm also going to post this to the game's main forum, in case it's a non-support issue that someone there may have encountered. Thanks for any assistance!

Hi Jaymo,

I have seen on the dev's site other people having the same issue - apparently it is known about. I have heard that it might be area specific sometimes and that leaving the guild 'might' fix it.

Until they fix it - and I would keep an eye on the official forums for updates - it's been suggested you could turn down the interface volume. But by all accounts chat channels are useless until its fixed. Sorry!

Just following up, I had to leave the guild, and the problem immediately fixed itself and connected to the Main Area chat channel!
