    Elden ring - lost ALL progress due to cloud save error


    upon startup, Elden ring would begin "searching for latest configuration", it would always fail this search and force me to play in online mode. I researched the issue, and the only solution I found was to delete your save from the console (Xbox one) and re-download it from the cloud. But when I attempted this, the cloud overwrote itself with the console save and deleted all my progress. I had over 190 hours in the game, any help getting them back would be greatly appreciated. Is there any way to have the old save brought back?

    things I've tried:

    turning it off and on

    quitting elden ring

    reinstalling elden ring

    restarting console

    going offline, back online

    resetting internet

    plugging in ethernet cable

    unplugging ethernet cable

    calling xbox support

    calling Bandai Namco support

    +some other stuff I probably forgot

    I hate to give other players bad news, but if your cloud saves got corrupted or they got overwritten by the console "new" save, you cannot recover it.

    You can try to talk to any Microsoft or Xbox employee and try to do any troubleshooting step available on earth. Nothing will bring your "old" cloud saves back.

    I’m sorry to hear you lost almost 70 hours of progress in Elden Ring, and understand you’re wondering if there is some kind of cloud cache save in order to allow you to restore the lost progress.

    However, I regret to inform you that unfortunately, this kind of feature is not available for cloud saves.

    It’s a slightly different question for another game, but the same steps still apply. If you access and play FH5 offline, select the cloud save when prompted to resync your game data/progress to your Xbox. If this fails or you’re unable to try this, then delete the game save data only for your console (not everywhere) on your account/profile.

    You may need to restart your console for the changes to properly take effect with this reflected in-game. Be sure to wait at least 10-15 seconds before reconnecting the power to completely reset the power supply.

    Wordament - not syncing with the cloud

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply. I've tried what you mentioned by uninstalling the game and reinstalling. The last level where all was fine and my progress was being saved to the cloud was level 148 and since then it never synced.

    I've now reached 150 with the past two levels not synced to the cloud. So I did what you asked and uninstalled the game, When I reinstalled it, I lost all my progress. It synced to the cloud and got me all my progress until 148 - makes sense since my progress after that never saved to the cloud due to the error.

    I then played another game to further my progress and after I completed the same, again it fails to sync my progress to the cloud.

    I'm now again at level 150 and I only have my local save. How do I get out of this issue and save my progress to the cloud??
