How is the elapsed time calculated for the solitaire games? I have had time posted to my account even when I am not playing a game, but am only viewing the main screen or working on the daily challenge. Since ranking is based on elapsed time for players
with tie scores, I would like to keep my time as low as possible, but when the clock keeps running even when I am not playing, it makes that difficult to do. How do the players who consistently rank near the top manage to complete all of the games in close
to an hour when I am running up times of three or four hours or more? I am not actually playing for that length of time, I am merely logged in to the site.

    :)

    Solitaire Collection

Why is my total elapsed time so much more than each game time in the solitaire collection.?

    Solitaire timer problem.

I did not play Solitaire for 5 + hours as shown in my ranking for today (3/30). Nor did I leave a game open or in focus.

The time is also not the elapsed time from the first game to the last.

I suspect f;reecell is the issue but haven't done anything to prove that.

    Thanks for checking.

I would also like an answer to this question, especially as it pertains to the events! I have checked my times on the leaderboards after a challenge and the time there is much higher than the time actually taken to finish the challenge, why is this?

How does the timer work during the Events?

There are two elapsed timers: The one that counts towards your Events score (and determines your place at the finish) is the total time spent actually playing each game. It doesn't matter how many times you take a break or how long you wait in between games.

The cumulative time, which shows up on the lower right of the screen before you look at the entire group finishers, is the time it took from when you started the first game until you finished the final game. It doesn't show up in the rankings but I think
that may be a tie breaker if two people finish with the same score and game-time.

Whenever you take a break from Events, be certain that you either finish the current challenge or cancel it, and to be sure I usually close Solitaire until I come back. If you walk away with a game open, the away time will count as playing
time as well as total elapsed time.
