Eject button not working!

So of course on the day after my one year warranty expires my eject button stops working. When I touch it it makes the sound but does not eject the disc.. I have to unplug the power cord and reset the xbox. It will then eject the disc only if I don't
turn it on and press the eject button first. Any ideas? I can't keep unplugging it and can't pay $115 for them to look at it.

There is a manual eject. You will need a paperclip. Instructions and diagrams are here:

Ya I found that. But don't want to have to do that and have to explain how to do that to my girlfriend in case I'm not home. I had a feeling there would be a problem with this thing as soon as the warranty ran out. Just my luck.

 

I had this problem a few weeks back, do the manual eject then put the disk back in and it should work like normal, mine has been working fine since i had the problem

Ok I got it to manually eject but now it won't take it back in. As if it has no power to pull the disc in.

 

It sounds like you definitely need a repair. I would contact phone or chat support (support.xbox.com/contact-us) and explain your situation to them, and they may be able to help you out.

 

I agree with Ken here. It does sound like it needs a repair. You can either contact support as suggested in his post or set up a repair of the console at the following link.
