    Backwards compatibility question

    You can login, make sure you are logged into a profile on your xbox one, then hit the back and start (view and menu) buttons in x360 mode... That brings up the option to sign into profiles and download profiles.

    Even if you use another xbox 360 it should let you login to a xbox 360 profile and it should just say it was last signed in on another system. I'd make sure you are signed into a profile, if you are trying splitscreen stuff make sure your friend signs into his xbox one profile before then signing into his xbox 360 profile.

    Awkward, but it works. Been busting up borderlands splitscreen in bc for a couple days.

    2 Xbox One X’s, One Live Account... Can I download and play the same games on both?

    ^ That's game share, you can do that in your house set one as home for your main profile, then have a second profile play on that console.

    The other console that isn't your home console you log into on your main profile and play with whomever on your other console same game and all (as long as it's digital).

    EDIT: Works for online games too the home console will share your gold subscription with anyone else that uses it, and your subscription / games follow you based on your profile as long as you are logged into your profile on any system you can download and install / play any game you own (as long as you are online).

    When you first made your Xbox LIVE account? Get the windows email you used, and login at hotmail.com from there, go to your profile pane, and press edit profile, then edit the birthday.

    Please keep in mind he cant install gamepass games without logining into your profile first

    Once he downloads them he can play them on his profile

    And fyi if you make his your home you must login online everytime to use the games

    Re security - what do you suggest as the best low-level protection for a profile?

    Re my nieces' gamer tags : yes, they seem to be able to change them freely - well, I changed them once for them. However I can't seem to edit the profile name. I do know that they attached email addresses to the profiles.

    What's the deal with the "friends" thing? Is that so one can "see" each other when online?

    For the latter question, preventing access to your own profile, go to Settings>Sign In, Security & Passkey and there you will be able to change sign-in and security preferences, as well as create a passkey.

    As for the other profiles, are you able to change their GTs freely? If so, it sounds likely those are offline profiles, which are not the same as the online accounts with profile details that you and your daughter seem to have, which would explain why you
    cannot add a profile name. If so, I think those profiles would also be unable to add friends, and there would be no Microsoft Account attached. And the names you are editing are for the Microsoft Account.

    If, however, they are full online Gamertags, you should be able to edit the associated names of the Microsoft Account by logging into
    https://account.live.com with the respective associated email addresses and passwords.
