Why do we have so little time to edit our posts. I mean people make spelling mistakes, and to re-write something we only have a very, very short period of time to do so. It's a bit ridiculous to tell you the truth. Plus to top it off we have to post "edit
notes" like a second after post the thread.

Why can't you give us 5 hours to edit a post.

    :)

There is a time limit on editing your posts so you'd need a moderator to edit your posts for you. Some examples would be nice to see though if possible.

[/quote]We won't be actively editing posts in this thread. All he needs to do is post his examples as the thead evolves. =]

Will have to agree with you on that one.

A few weeks back I decided to add an extra line or two to a post and ran out of time while editing, literally a few minutes after the original post was first made.

And as for the editing notes, I just put `info` in the box.

I, personally, like that we can't edit posts after so long. If someone wants to be an idiot on here, I don't want them to be able to edit their stupid thoughts/opinions. Editing posts. :)

  6. Hey there,

I guess the reason why we can not edit our posts is because of how many people would edit their post in a year, or even a couple of months, and change the content of what they have written. This would then confuse future readers and visitors as anything
that has been posted before, may not be tied in with what the OP was talking about.

You may think that this does not happen, but I have seen it happen. Not on these forums, but on other Microsoft communities.

Another thing that may be the reason why you can not edit your post is, people who change Mod Edits. There has been multiple times when I have changed someone's post on the Microsoft Community forums (Answers.microsoft.com) and they have changed what I
have put. For example, I removed someone's email address, and they re write it in their post.

Frankly, I like the idea that we can not edit our posts. Editing posts. :)

However, if you want to suggest this as an edit to the Xbox team, you can suggest it through this web link here:
    Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice

    Hope this helps

    Regards,

  7. I think the few minutes we have to edit is about right. It's long enough to correct any spelling mistakes that you might have done and if you require more time to add more information to the post then you'd be better of putting it into a new one where you
    wont feel rushed.

Never put anything but nonsense in the edit notes box. Usually just random characters.

MR sunk, You bring up very valid nonpoints.

Moderation staff do have the ability to line edit and delete......... Why not just use the section provided within the forum itself to voice an opinion??? Oh wait Editing posts. :)

I would really like to share my list of Upcoming Xbox Games on Windows and keep it up to date, however since we do not have the ability to edit posts, I am unable to make this a reality. Would a moderator please allow me to continually edit this post (forums.xbox.com/.../1877114.aspx)
, so I can contribute to the Xbox Games on Windows community?

  11. There is already a sticky on that forum for upcoming games, yours is not needed.

If there were an Xbox on Windows general discussion forum, I would have posted my thread to that forum. However, since there is no general discussion forum for Xbox on Windows games, the only logical place for Xbox on Windows games general discussion is
    the PC Games General forum.
