    Edge browser shuts down when streaming movies.


    Since the last xbox one update early this year we cannot stream movies through the edge browser anymore. We get anywhere from a few minutes to 20 mins into a video and it just exits. Speaking to other friends, a lot of people have this problem. I kindly
    seek a solution. Thanks.

    SHUTS DOWN WITH STREAMING

    We purchased a brand new xbox one Assassins creed unity bundle and picked it up 2/7/15. Set up, everything was running great. Next day we went to watch Netflix and after a few hours the console shut down, not overheating and no error code, just a straight
    black screen. I started a back and forth dialogue with xbox support on twitter. This lasted for three days of every kind of troubleshooting possible, all the way down to a system reset. Finally after all the frustration we just returned and exchanged the
    system for a second brand new one. This is the first day of using Netflix and I wasn't even in to it for an hour when the console shut down. We're talking about a SECOND BRAND NEW console having the same streaming issue as the first. This is obviously a
    software problem and I've seen other comments of the same issue on other websites. Since I can't CALL xbox I'm getting incredibly frustrated with the support system.

    Thanks but the low quality is not the problem like you say i try to streaming movies on edge browser and passed 10 minutes the app crash always i try on diferents pages and servers and allways get this issue.

    Im download another browser and the problem its the same i think is something in the xbox one s/x software.

    The same problem persisting on my xbox one s. Disney Plus doesnt have an app in India. So when i use Edge to open the website i cant watch any of the movies or streaming content. Edge is certainly winning the worst browser contest

    Maybe you're missing the point. I don't use the browser on my xbox. At all. I don't stream through the browser or websites on my xbox.

    Please read the whole post instead of answering based only on the title.

    The ad wasn't a small pop up, it was full screen, and the ad was most definitely played through the movies and TV app. You may choose not to believe me, that's fine. I didn't believe it myself when it happened. But it absolutely opened movies and TV to play the ad full screen, shut down and exited the game. I could not quick resume my game. When I shut the ad down it was playing in the movies and TV app, and I had to log into my game again from the start.

    my Microsoft edge keeps shutting down when trying to watch any video and its really getting on my nerves i loved the browser best when it was still internet explorer so either fix edge and make it work like it should or bring back internet explorer please

    Hi there.

    I would assume they have upgraded there streaming codecs and are no longer compatible with the Xbox Edge Browser.
