  1. Echo Power Problem ?

When I watch a DVD, Blu-ray or 4K my screen keeps going dark after about 10 minutes of watching as if the "X-box One S" thinks it's not in use, I touch a button on the X-Box controller and the screen goes back to normal, this is very frustrating, this has
only started in the last few days..

Also late at night when watching DVD, Blu-ray or 4K I use the controller with headphones plugged in to it but now after 15 mins or so my Controller turns of cutting out the sound to the headphone, when watching a 2 hour movie it is very very annoying!

It never used to happen so I'm guessing it's part of an auto power saving update ???

My "X-box One S" is the only Blu-ray player in the house, Please fix..

    :)

    Echo Power Problem ?

Hey Supes! Just a heads-up, unfortunately the idle settings only allow you to change the timing of the screen dimming to a maximum of 60 minutes, but you can't turn it off altogether. I mentioned it above as a workaround, but I think the main issue is that
the console appears only to accept "controller movement" as legit "activity." So, drive activity (DVD or BR) or streaming content aren't detected as activity, causing the timeout.

I even found one guy online who sometimes listens to a movie after everyone has gone to bed, using headphones attached to the controller's 3.5mm jack, but when the screen goes idle, the controller turns off, and the headphones lose connection! šŸ˜¬

Might be this setting on your console. Try this: Settings>Preferences>Idle options. There is a setting there that says "Dim your screen while you're not using your Xbox. This helps to preserve your TV screen." Try changing it. If not best troubleshooting
step is a factory reset while keeping games and apps.

Sorry to add one more reply to the mix, but if nothing helps, as Jacob said, you might contact MS directly, AND I would also suggest reporting the issue directly from the console - wait for the problem to occur next, then hold down the Nexus (xbox button)
on the controller until the "turn console off" menu appears. Scroll to "report a problem," and it will allow you to report the issue, which also submits detailed console logs to the development team, allowing them to analyze the problem and work to fix it!

    Echo Power Problem ?

Hi Bailey! So, I haven't had a chance to test this to confirm or reject it, but I have found several others with the same issue on other forums online, and one suggests this as a possible fix. The reply had some invites, so it MAY work.

First, go to your settings, choose preferences, then idle options. From here, there is a box checked labeled "show me things while idle." Try unchecking that, and see what happens. It's possible the rolling notifications may be on a parallel timer, which
forces the screen dimming to come on even though the console is active.

As a workaround, until this is resolved, you can also change the idle timer on this same screen to as much as 60 minutes, which would at least minimize the interruptions while watching a film or streaming content!

Let me know if this helps!

    Echo Power Problem ?

Hey Bailey! If heading over to your settings and turning off the "Show me things when idle" selection does not resolve your issue, you may want to take it up with Microsoft over the phone. They might be able to run a diagnostic on your system.

Most of the solutions I could think of have been stated. Keep us posted on this issue!
