Echo issues in party chat for xbox overlay on PC

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. What kind of headset do you have exactly? Have you tried to see if the issue persists on other headsets?

Certain headsets have to be updated from the manufacturer's website. Also, does your computer have a built-in mic like a laptop? if so, you may need to deactivate it in your mic settings.

I have a Steel Series Arctic 3, wired headset and no other microphones. I do not think that's were the issue is, because everything works fine through other applications, but I also do not have the option of trying out another headset at the moment.

Other players (when I use LFG-function in the Xbox Game Bar and get a party chat) complain that they hear their own voice echo back at them like half a second later. I have never had a problem technically, just seems to annoy some people to the degree where
they get another group!

Welcome to the forums, sorry you're experiencing these problems with the game.

This seems like a strange issue, but i have done a bit of research on this as its not happening to me on my Xbox one X and Xbox OG.

It appears to have something to do with the party chat, and specifically the Party chat overlay. There have been suggestions to turn the overlay off, or attempt to play without party chat.

But this error doesnt seem to be xbox specific as there are also PS and PC gamers also experiencing similar issues, which means its the game, and not the console.

If you're experiencing this same issue on all of your other games on your console, then the console may be damaged/faulty and may need a repair. If its only Call of Duty, then its clearly the game, and not the device.

Hopefully attempting to try the game without being in a party, or with having the party chat overlay off helps the problem for now till the fixes are applied to the game.

Are you in a party chat? If so, in the Xbox party chat settings, there is a overlay toggle which can switch the overlay on or off.

Outside of party chat, I am not entirely sure how it works with MWII (I assume that's what you are playing).

I don't play in any sort of team so party chat isn't something I'm in.
