Echo echo echo.....

When talking to my mate I keep getting an echo on my end which he cant hear and when he talks everything is fine but when I talk to anybody else its fine and if a few of us are in a party we all echo except him and he cant hear any echo but we can all hear
each other echo so apologies for all the echos :-0

Any ideas what might be a solution to the problem would be most welcome and we have tried different headsets with no luck

Used to get that problem from time to time on the 360... if the person not hearing the echo unplugged their mic then reconnected it always worked... dunno if the same will apply to the X1 though.

Yeah , tell your man ( the one without echo ) to check his headset leads are all plugged in correctly .

Is your mate by chance using the Polk 4 Shot headset with the boom mic? This same thing is happening to me and that is the headset I am using. Everyone in my party hears echos except me, when I change my mic over to the heeadset that came with the Xbox
everything is fine. My controller is updated. I'm not sure what's going on.. Have you found a solution?

 

No m8 he wasn't using that headset and his only solution is to use Kinect whilst in a party, not ideal but at least it saves all our ears listening to the echo !!

 

Its always worth trying the power drain.

hold power button on front of console for 10 sec while console is on.

hold power button on from of console for 10 sec while console is off.

power console on and check for resolution.

 

Thanks for the added advice but it turns out it was my mate's mic that was at fault!
