Easy anti cheat fix

It has come to my attention that you are experiencing anti-cheat related issues while playing Fortnite.



This is a friendly note: this community is primarily for technical support and discussion of Microsoft/Xbox products.

And while we're glad to help you with your questions, there is a limit to how much help this community can provide when it comes to third-party platforms or the issue of the game itself.



I did a brief search on this issue and I realized that you are not the only one experiencing this issue, quite a few players are experiencing this issue just like you.

Fortnite should have to come up with an official fix patch or solution for this, and I suggest you gather as much detailed error information as you can and submit it to Epic Support, telling them that this is a common problem and that the anti-cheat program and the game itself need to be checked.

Hi there Warder welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I fixed the Anti-Cheat problem like this.

1. Manually download and install Easy Anti-Cheat here: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/guides/s... https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/guides/s...

2. Create a new folder in ProgramFiles (x86) within the drive the game was installed on, called "EasyAntiCheat" and drop the .exe file in there.

NOTE: This is a third party link that is not Microsoft's property, so you might encounter advertising on the website.

i wouldn't ask here as it is not a Microsoft initiative to enable it, halo mcc works fine on Linux apart from normal online due to anticheat, i know the Linux guys have been working with anticheat to get it fully implemented and it looks like they have so won't be long until all the online aspects of the games will work too.

sea of thieves works better on Linux than it does on windows lol. as soon as anticheat and battle eye are all working in proton then i can finally ditch windows.

the future is looking good for Linux distros.

Gears 5 uses Easy Anti-Cheat, an industry leading cheat detection and prevention tool, to ensure a safe, fair and competitive environment for players across both platforms.

If you are experiencing issues with Easy Anti-Cheat, please follow these steps provided by Easy Anti-Cheat:

1. Verify connectivity to Easy Anti-Cheat
2. Update Windows
3. Update the game
4. Close all unnecessary programs
5. Manage your anti-virus

Verify connectivity to Easy Anti-Cheat
Ensure you can access the Easy Anti-Cheat Content Distribution Network by following these links.

• https://download.eac-cdn.com/
• https://download-alt.easyanticheat.net/

You should see the message: '200 - HTTP OK'

If neither of the links display the expected message, make sure that nothing is blocking your Internet connection. If necessary, add Easy Anti-Cheat and the game folder to your firewall exception list or temporarily disable your firewall. Sometimes connection
issues are caused by incorrect network router settings. For further assistance, contact your Internet Service Provider.

Update Windows
System files that the game relies on may be missing.

• Make sure all the latest updates for your operating system are installed.
• Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.
• Run the following command with Administrator rights to repair corrupted system files: sfc /scannow Follow this guide for instructions on running a
  command with administrative rights.

Update the game
Errors may also be caused by a corrupted EasyAntiCheat installation. Follow this guide to repair the Easy Anti-Cheat service.

Close all unnecessary programs
Some programs on your computer may interfere with the game you're playing or Easy Anti-Cheat. Close all other programs not related to Windows. A cold reboot may be required.

Manage your anti-virus
Performing a full-system scan is highly recommended. If you don't have an anti-virus or it has been out of date for a while, you can use the software listed in
Easy Anti-Cheat’s malware troubleshooting guide.

If the scan does not surface any issues, it may be that the error is related to anti-virus or similar software being corrupted and falsely blocking Easy Anti-Cheat.

Simply disabling it may not entirely stop the software from interfering with the game. Please uninstall any such software temporarily to verify that the game launches without it. If the game otherwise starts without issues, proceed to add its installation
folder to the exception list.

If the steps above did not assist, Easy Anti-Cheat strongly recommends performing a clean Windows installation. Alternatively, you can ask Easy Anti-Cheat for assistance by sending
a tech support ticket.

I am very sorry for what you are going through, This error means that Easy Anti-Cheat has been uninstalled from your system. This can occur if you have uninstalled a title's Public Test Server (PTS) and then launch the main game. To fix this, reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat before restarting the game.
