Earthlock Festval of Magic and attempting to download upgraded Earthlock

Hello Microsoft,

I am curious if there is something else I need to do.

I downloaded Earthlock FoM when it presented in Games With Gold.

I recently heard it came out with the upgraded version and I downloaded the Free Trial thinking it would convert into owning the game as the free upgrade since I possessed the previous title.

It still only displays as a trial and now it asks for me to buy the game rather giving me the option to install it.

So "Earthlock" isn't showing under my Golds section when I'm in Games and Apps. However, I still show Earthlock FoM in the Gold section and I'm still able to play that title. Will I need to uninstall it in order to get the upgraded version?

So I still can play Earthlock FoM without being kicked out as if it were a trial.

Plus when I select "See in Microsoft Store" it brings up Earthlock Festival of Magic, not just Earthlock.

Also, on that page it shows I own it by giving the option "Play". This is there whether I have the free trial of Earthlock installed or removed

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you acquired Earthlock Festival of Magic through Games with Gold. You went on to download the trial in hopes that it would give you access to expansion content is that correct?
As a result the game now thinks you only own the trial. Do you still have an active Xbox Live Gold Subscription? If so, go into you're Games and Apps section and look in the "Gold" area and you should be able to download it from there. You definitely have
to be in the account that owns the content to redownload it without having to repurchase. You can check if you're account owns the content by reviewing your
Microsoft Account Order History and looking back to when you got it.

If you got the games for gold version and you overwrote it with the trial then you no longer own the game. Since the game is not still available as a Game for Gold you will have to purchase it.
