Earth Defense Force: 2025

If you still have your XBox 360 you really should give this game a go.

This isn't the best looking game on the XBox 360 but it could very well be one of the most fun.

Tons of enemies.

More weapons than "HALO", "Gears" and "COD" combined, some of which have to be seen to be believed.

This isn't the most serious game... but it is seriously fun.

While the gameless muse over resolution and fuss about frame rates this lower res game that chugs when there's a bazzillion enemies and explosions on screen shows the Next Gen how a great game is done.

It appeals to the most basic of gaming requirements: The need to blow stuff up that ain't you.

The new classes and multiple difficulty levels and online group play or local coop adds tons of replay value to a very robust campaign.

The first "Earth Defense Force" on the 360 was developed by Sandlot.

The 2nd, "Insect Armageddon" was another developer.

It's Sandlot who are back and who have made "2025" and though it seems that "Insect Armageddon" never existed in the series Sandlot seem to have taken the best of "2017" and the best of "Insect Armageddon" to create 2025.

You should definately check it out.

Game suggestions

"Bayonetta".

Still the greatest game released on the XBox 360.

You can pick it up cheap enough.

If you want something that's pure unadulterated fun then check out "Earth Defense Force: 2025" as well.

 

Earth Needs You

They started out on the Playstation I believe.

Sandlot made "Earth Defense Force: 2017" which is a blast. It's my wife's favourite game on the 360.

"Earth Defence Force: Insect Armageddon" was a different developer and had some nice ideas but didn't capture the same mood as the orginal.

Sandlot have made "Earth Defense Force: 2025" and most reviews are saying if you loved 2017 you'll love this.

To quote Ranger 6 from the first game:

"They're a herd of people eating monsters... we can't let them have their way"!

 

2017 had the best couch co-op ever; does 2025 have local co-op?

 

Insect Armageddon was buggy! lol, humour aside, the EDF games are bargain bin specials, not worth anything more than £5-£10
in my own opinion...

Yes, 2025 has local Coop. 2017 was my wife's favourite 360 game. Now this one is. Great local coop and like 2017 your buddy doesn't need an XBox LIVE profile to play with you. Anything you have unlocked they have access to. Anything they unlock you
keep. Not sure how it works with local coop online yet. Haven't tried.

As mentioned above WILK0, "Insect Armageddon" was made by a different developer but your thoughts on something else you haven't played are as useful as ever.

 

I loved 2017 and thought insect armageddon was ok... But 2025 is here and it is great as well... I can see hours of farming armor boxes in my future

 

It's all my wife and I have been playing this weekend.

It's got all the epic B Movie wonder of 2017 with the giant insects and robots but the introduction of the class system has really stepped up the game.

Swooping and flying as a Wing Diver is just awesome and it's amazing to be fighting the enemy mob until you're practically toe to toe (or should that be antennae) and then as you start to get encircled slowly rise up into the air as you keep blowing and
blasting the alien bugs to bits.

Just awesome fun, especially as you unlock and try out fresh gear.

Did a quick double check to see how online works and you can take your couch Co-Op partner into an online match with you. Only 1 person needs to have LIVE.

Great game.

 

I love the wing diver... using the rapier (or one of the variants) and just barely flying over a large crowd and just decimating all of them... They really stepped it up with this game i must say
