EARLY XBOX ONE ADOPTERS SHOULD BE COMPENSATED

Lmao ^ wouldn't it only! I would love for 'Kinect usage' to be seen on smartglass so I can see if the haters have sneaked a fair few hours of guilty pleasure into it.

 

I still believe Kinect 2 will sell well.

I believe a lot of people that use forums like this are probably ( for want of a better word ) hardcore gamers, more set in their ways, no interest in motion control etc but I also believe gamers that post on forums like here are in the minority.

As I said before, like or hate the first Kinect it sold in huge numbers. It looks like the PS4 camera is selling way more than was expected so yeah so there is a lot of interest out there in this type of device.

Who knows, if Microsoft and Sony get as many developers on board as possible, show even better things for it in future then maybe even some of the doubters ( not all ) will warm to it.

Looking back I do think it's another mistake Microsoft have made, of course people still had the choice whether to part with their cash or not but I believe if they would have made it optional from the start, offer people a cheaper option then I don't think
the sales gap between XB1 and PS4 would be what it is today.

I just hope now especially with E3 fast approaching that people can just get on talking about the games and look forward to the future of both these new consoles. Personally I look forward to what Nintendo are doing aswell, can't wait for the new Mario Kart
and rumours abound that a new Star Fox and F-Zero might be on the cards, happy days

Maybe it's just my suspicious nature but I wouldn't mind betting Microsoft knew from the start, before launch that they were going to make Kinect optional. Could be their plan was to get a good number out there at the start, around 5 million or so now depending
on where you read, once so many were sold then make it optional?

I still think why Microsoft are lagging behind PS4 is the price which Kinect obviously played a part of. I mean for parents that walk into a store wanting to buy their son who just wants to play a new COD, Battlefield, FIFA, at the start they see two new
consoles, one £80 cheaper, pretty obvious what most would opt for and I doubt little Johnny will care as long as he can play the game.

 

Also don't forget that some peoples rooms aren't big enough to actually use the Kinect (like mine) its full of furniture so having one forced on us wasn't great but didn't stop me buying it on release day.

saying that it hasn't detracted from my enjoyment of the system apart from NFS that made the camera spin round mid race from so much as a cough!

 

@Omega why can you not see that some people feel differently than you do? Just because you see no need for compensation (not a reward) then that must mean everyone should feel that way?

Like i said 6 moinths ago MS stated there would not be a kinectless console. They should compensate for their lies.

Plus compensation is something that has been done before so why is it so hard to grasp.

Whilst havinbg a similar convo with someone they put it like this. When someone gets punche din the face, some people stand there and take it, others fight back.

I was lucky i foresaw what has happened and held off a purchase. Others did not have the same knowledge or do the same research as i did and may not have known. If you wuda postyed on here asking if a kinectless sku was forthcoming. 90% of posters would
have said its never going to happen.

MS lied, they should pay. Now if MS had said, its a possibilty that a kinectless sku will arrive then there would be no need for complaint.

 

^ I can't remember exactly what Microsoft said, they might of said "Never" but I have seen some post that they worded it carefully,

Some say they said "We have no plans" or "No intentions" of selling it without Kinect but didn't say "We would 'never' sell without Kinect" ..

Like I said, don't know myself, read so many things it's hard to keep track lol.

Funny enough Eurogamer have said today that they have heard once the standalone XB1 are released, Microsoft do have some sort of thank you planned so we shall see.

 

I am sure i already said if MS want to make a gesture for good PR, then that is up to them, but in no way has anybody any right to compensation, they knew what they were getting, and they took it with open arms, and as far as i can see the console has done
what they bought it for, even more during those six months since its launch with updates.

So apart from a new kinectless xb1 bundle coming, i fail to see what MS have done wrong, games will still come for the kinect, they can still use it as they have been doing since day one, nothing has changed for launch day owners, other than in my view a
large chunk of green envy at not having the patience to wait for the inevitable price cut and kinectless launch.

Some people really do need to learn some personal fiscal responsibility, or do we need the nanny state to once again tell people what to do. lol

There's loads of things like this when MS were pushing it, bottom line they said a Kinectles Xbox One would never be available so i can kinda see why folks are annoyed. But that's the way it goes i suppose

 

^^They said DRM was integrated into the XB1 hardware and could never be switched off, they said cloud was going to do real time rendering of XB1 games, so really with the amount of back tracking MS did before launch, you would have to be so naive about a
kinectless xb1 bundle appearing at some stage, to the point, that you had changed your name to Mr Naive, and moved to the country Naive, were you opened a shop called The Naive shop, that specialised in selling The dummies guide to being Naive. lol

 

I agree completely! They have pretty much gone back against everything they have said regarding the Xbox One, spinless MS that it is. I can see why folks are annoyed but like you said, on the flipside you just had to look at MS's track record on backtracking
up to that point!
