Early Adopt of the XB1 was a waste

I, myself, is an Xbox gamer and have been loyal since the original system I purchased back in 2004. I am not one who really gets upset or angry when it comes to Microsoft because I have always had a great deal of success with not only their Xbox products,
but their other products as well (even though I have had 2 Xbox 360s red ring on me and am on a 3rd one of those). Today, I feel that has really changed. I have been seeing advertisements that the XB1 now comes with Titanfall for the same price I purchased
my system for not more than 3-4 months ago. I wanted to stick with a MS product because I really have loved them since the beginning and love XB Live. Now, I see that retailers in the UK, the MS store with coupon codes found all over the internet and as of
this morning, all Walmart stores have dropped the price down on the Titanfall bundle. (Walmart has it for $450 [and please don't give me the generic response that they did that without MS's approval because I used to work for WM and I know they would not discount
your product below cost and lose money unless MS gave them a deal on a certain number of units that they would not be losing money on or WM was to receive some sort of kickback from MS]). To me, this feels like a screw job to all that supported the XB1 as
Sony's PS4 has been outselling it 2-to-1 all over the world. This essentially works out to be that the system is selling for $110 off ($50 off the system and Titanfall for free, a $60 game), which makes it a better value than the PS4. But hey, Ms already got
my money, at full retail, for the XB1 so why even consider those loyal gamers that helped sell your 3M+ systems to start. I get it, MS was loosing out to Sony so they had to do something, but they are forgetting about their core group of gamers that went out
and bought the system right away because they believed in the product. This has really soured me on the practices that this company has. And I know they are a business and do not have to care about the consumer to and extent. Their here to sell their product
and make the most money they can. It would look bad to the investors if they gave the game away to people who have already spent their money, why help them out. Can't have any kind of 'red' on that Profit & Loss statement, that'll hurt the public image. By
no means do I believe that Sony would be more "customer oriented', but at least I would get a $100 discount by not having a camera I don't even use. Your customer support was no help and according to 'Jayce O.' in your "Customer Service" department I was talking
to, he felt the same way. Request the transcripts of our conversation and you'll see. No, my frustrations will not go away because you offered me a month or two of free Xbox Gold Service, which I have had for 7 years now. I know this will fall on deaf ears
and you could give a crap that one gamer is *** with you business practices, but it would be nice for some kind of response. I have learned my lesson that it's better to let a company and their new product flounder at first so I can get a discount later on
and actually feel like it is worth the money I just laid out for it. I won't make that mistake with your next system, if you have a next system.

Do Launch and First Month Xbox One Consoles Deserve a Free Game?

any early adopter knows the score ... they could start to show sign of games for gold on XB1 tho ... but cant see that until its at least a year old

 

Why should I buy a Xbox One? Seriously.

I hear you, but don't think anybody here can ease your concern. It's the risk of being an early adopter (1 have 2, XB1 arriving tomorrow). If Halo is the primary driver for XB1, then why not wait a year or so? Enjoy the PS4, and when Halo 5 launches (next
XMas?), see if there have been any big problems.

 

That is the risk you take from buying consoles at launch unfortunately. Dreamcast dropped the price 3 months after it launched too.

At launch Microsoft released a FIFA and Forza 5 bundle options too, as Titanfall only just came out they couldn't have done that kind of bundle until now. Bundles will change.

Also, supermarkets will lower price below cost including Walmart to bring in customers. TESCO in the UK often sells new FIFA versions for 10 pounds, that is almost 30 pounds less than the game sells for. This is because once they are in the store you can
sell them other things. Go in for a game, come out with beer, food, cleaning products etc etc. It isn't unusual. Microsoft suggests a price and the retailers set the price but the cost Walmart is paying to Microsoft for Xbox One's isn't the price you would
pay so Wal-mart is keeping a profit even with their recent price drop.

 

I will have to agree with you I was pretty upset after buying the day one edition, all I got was a engraved controller while everyone since then has got something else being forza 5, fifa, or titanfall. Guess what Microsoft I lubed up and bought titanfall,
forza 5, and don't much care for fifa. As for your loyal fan base we are the ones who should have been made happy not the people you're attempting to get to buy x1. So thank you sc bamf for the post
