Early Access - Am concerned

So I missed the announcement about Early Access at the MS conference. So i may not know the full details. But is this going to be like it is on steam? If so this concerns me as I don't think early access has a place on consoles. My main concern is does
MS have a plan for failed projects? I have seen games on steam that have promised the world. People have bought into the early access. Months have then went by without any major updates. Then the game is left to rot or they simply take it out of early access
and say it is fully released when it really is not.

I admit I buy into early access games on PC from time to time. DayZ is a good example. I bought it for £20 back in 2013. Since then the game has not been through massive changes. The game is poorly optimized and barely works. Do we honestly want to see something
like this on Xbox? I personally will only buy into early access games on Xbox if Microsoft puts a guarantee on it.

For example game comes to early access on Xbox. Game fails or turns out to be something different from what was promised when it was announced. If this happens Microsoft refunds the customers. This am ok with but without something like this I would not touch
a early access game on consoles.

Hmmm.... millions of people will have Kinect and internet access... I am not a terrorist... so not even concerned enough to read that giant block of text.

 

How to you feel about Early Access on Xbox?

Like I said above, my only concern is how many of these games are we going to get that will never actually finish. Dayz has been in early access since December 2013, and there are games that have been on it longer than that. You get some games that come out on early access and the devs promise to keep working on it but a year down the line and suddenly the devs are quiet and you no longer get updates on the game.

 

This isn't new. You get like 4 hours of early playtime and your progress transfers to the full game.

 

Wait so it is not like buy into the game while it is in Alpha?

 

No. You just get a few hours early if you preorder. It's the release version a few days early.

 

Dangerboy he's referring to a different feature that's just been announced that lets you play mainly indie games that aren't totally completed yet

 

Early access is a gamble, but MS gives you a free trial of all the games. So you can try it out before buying in.
