Earbuds w/ Inline Mic KIND of work. (Echo)

Due to certain issues with my headset, for the time being I've decided to try using some in ear stereo headphones with an inline Mic connected to the chat adapter to replace it. I'm fairly certain that it has the proper CTIA plug, as I can hear game audio,
and others can hear my voice through the Mic, but the issue is that other people in my party can hear an echo of themselves. I haven't had issues with this with my headset, so I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. Any ideas?

Headset Adapter w/Bose headphones inline mic?

Before I waste money on yet another overpriced Microsoft product, will the adapter work with the inline mic on my Bose headphones? Anyone that has apple earbuds with the inline mic can answer this as they are the same.

 

Will the xbox one headset adapter make the controller output game sound in any headset?

Yes, you will be "able to use my 3.5mm mp3 headphones with the adapter"

If you want to use a mic along with your headphones you will need to buy a 3.5mm headset splitter.

You can also use earbuds or IEM but if they have an inline mic, the mic will not work.

 

Forgot to mention that the only way I can stop the echo is to bring chat volume or overall volume WAY down.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem. What headset is it that you're using?

I have had a similar problem as well. Occasionally when I am in a party with friends they can hear themselves echoing through my headset.

I am using the Polk 4shot stereo headset. The only solution I have found so far is like yours, turning the volume down.

However, I do not have to turn it down so much as I can't hear the game or my friends well enough. I've been able to find a good balance between what I can hear, and them not hearing themselves echo.

You may just have to experiment to find that balance. You can also try moving the microphone a little ways away from your mouth (more from the headphone part of the headset). The echoing may come from the mic picking up the voice through the headphones.

Hopefully one of these solutions will work for you.

 

Yes, I've heard that this is an issue with the Polks. as for me, i am simply using some cheap generic headphones, as one of the wires on my headsets need to be fixed.

I agree that the finding of a balance seems to be the only solution unfortunately. Thanks for letting me know that the same methods work on higher end headsets as well, so it is probably a more difficult problem to fix.

 

Sorry that there is no real fix for this. Hopefully you can get a new wire for your other headset and be back to normal soon.
