EA games- purchased but can't play without subscription?

MadelineHolbrook, Star Wars Battlefront 2 has offline and online e modes.

If your son is trying to play the online modes, he will need the Xbox live gold subscription (Xbox live gold is a subscription which gives the right to play paid games onine.) indeed. But he can play it offline without any subscriptions.

I agree, I think that it is stupid that we can't play this free-to-play game without purchasing an Xbox gold subscription.

because you cancelled your subscription you can't play EA games that you downloaded from EA acces in order to play those games you need to buy or renew the EA acces subscription

You won't have Gamepass.

Gamepass is a subscription that provides access to a library of games that can be played without purchasing them. Similar to Netflix.

While "Gamepass Ultimate" provided access to that same library and also gives access to Xbox Gold and EA Play.

Ea Play is also like gamepass that offers their own game library that can be accessed while the Subscription is active.

With Gamepass Ultimate, you'll have Gold, Gamepass, and Ea Play all in one Subscription.

However, what you purchased (Xbox Live) is Xbox Gold. This is a subscription that provides access to online gaming.

It is not Gamepass so if you are looking for an active Gamepass after redeeming that 12-month Subscription, Gamepass will not show but Xbox Live or Xbox Gold should show.

It will depend on them but I'll share your details in regards to subscriptions that Microsoft offers.

* Xbox Live Gold ($9.99) - This is the subscription that they need to play online multiplayer games but free-to-play games such as Fortnite, Warzone, etc does not require one. If they play games like Battlefront they will need this.

* Xbox Game Pass for Console ($9.99) - This is a subscription where they can access hundreds of games on the Xbox Game Pass library without limitations.

* EA Play ($4.99) - Subscription for EA Library, this is also a set of EA Games that they can play without limitations.

* Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ($14.99) - This includes Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, EA Play both for Xbox and PC.

You can purchase any of the subscriptions in one account and then set the account as Home Xbox in that way if your other kid created his/her Xbox profile he/she will be able to use the subscription that you will purchase through Home Xbox.
