this EA access is the first step as a slap in the face to the secondary used market like Gamestop and store like that. This eliminates discs and resale and at the same time helps the devs recoup some of that lost revenue by the subscription prices. Think
about it. I would never have bought say FIFA"new", maybe If I seen it sitting in a $10 bin, yeah sure. But how many times has that game been around by then? 3 maybe 4 owners? So by the $30 I already paid EA, I got it. Will play it for a bit and then most likely
delete it. Not take it home from Gamestop, trade it back in and have them resell it for a 4th time. It's one and done for me. No loss of revenue by EA as the game was "NEW" to me and not a used disc. Once more and more publishers start doing this. Trade in
values of games will almost go away. Why would Gamestop now give you $25.00 for FIFA if it is free on EA ACCESS and HOW can they sell it for $19.99 if it free on EA ACCESS? I take this as the first shots fired in a physical vs Digital war and it was direct
hit.

All the games there offering can be had for about £20 the difference is once your finished you can recoup practically all your money ( the going rate won't change much in a month or two) with the exception of peggle and have a selection that isn't limited
to ea games.

 

I dont know what UK stores are offering these games at £5 a pop but that isnt true here in the States. BF4 and Madden will easily run you $80 combined for used copies, and when done you will get maybe $20 in return. But this is what is fundamentally wrong
with gamers, they dont support publishers. And then you wonder why MS tried that DRM scheme last year. Support the people who make the games, not the retailer who sells them.

I think most people would rather pay 5 bucks a month to play 4 titles as much as you'd like then to pay $100 for the four titles used and trade them in for a small fraction of your money back. But thats just my thinking.

 

As I've previously mentioned, this "Vault" thing is way easier for EA to do and make money off of, because of the amount of micro-transactions that are in their games. This is not me saying that m-t are right or wrong, just a general comment.

 

£20 each, and if your trading at a store your doing it wrong to begin with.

 

I prefer paying 2.50 a month(1 yr subscribtion) than paying 15 to 25 on ebay for games I will only play once in awhile(madden,fifa,nba,nhl). If I play one I really like then I will buy it later on after it gets dirt cheap. When blockbuster rented games it
was like 5.00 for 3 days and no one complained then.

I don't rent anything and buy all digital I was just pointing out the fact that if the game is old enough to have a decent amount used then buying it for £20 playing it for a month then selling it for what you paid for it makes sense.

If ea adds newer titles then the above doesn't work as the games lose value to quickly till they get to a baseline so ea's service becomes much more attractive.

I know what you are saying about shopping around for the best price's (buy and selling price's), most people don't honestly do that though. They grab the game they want to trade, go into town to somewhere like Game and do a trade. I know it's better to go
on eBay or shop around but most people can't be bothered or don't want to wait for day's for a game to get delivered.

 

I think this is a brilliant scheme.

I have one friend who traded his BF4 which more than paid for 1 year EA access, he then downloaded BF4 + Fifa + Madden and more games will be added.

I'll definitely be paying for 1 year when it's available to all.
