E73 error and console freezing.

My console displayed an E73 message a while back followed by a solid red light on the console itself. Since then it can now turn on but freezes upon trying to perform any simple task on the console, e.g. trying to play a game, it freezes. I have tried everything
xbox support have told me and nothing is working. What I am wondering is if this is an issue with the hard drive alone, and if so then can i just buy a new one from amazon, or is it a problem with the actually console internals causing the problem, and if
so then i will need it repaired?

I'M GETTING AN E73 ERROR CODE ON MY XBOX. I TRIED TO CONNECT THE TONY HAWK GAME AND IT DIDN'T WORK. THEN I PUT IN ANOTHER GAME. THE AUDIO SOUND FUNNY SO I TURNED IT OFF. TURNED IT BACK ON WITH THIS STUPID ERROR. CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

The E73 message indicate a possible hardware failure. Hers are some possible solutions for you to try. If none of the solutions work you can send it in for a repair or if you you like you can purchase a new console.

Solution 1:

1. Turn off your console.

2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of your console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the power supply unit.

3. Reconnect all three connections making sure they are secure.

4. Turn your console back on.

If problem persists go to the next solution

Solution 2:

1. Remove the Hard Drive from the console

2. Power on the console and check if the problem is still there.

If yes: The Hard drive isnt the problem, reattach the hard drive and go to the next solution

If no: reattach the hard drive and make sure the problem only occurs when the hard drive is attached

3. If you haven't already, Reattach the hard drive and power on the console

If problem persists go to the next solution

Solution 3:

*If this doesn't apply to you go to the next solution*

1. Remove any memory units or USB Flash Drives attached to the console

2. Power on the console

If the problem persists go to the next solution

Solution 4

1. Detach all accessories so that only the power cable and the a/v cable are attached to the console

2. Power on the console
