1. E68 error, 320 GB hard drive defective (?). How do I recover saves?

I got an E68 error. Removed the 320 GB portable hard drive from xbox 360 and the xbox works fine, with access to original hard drive. Tried reinserting the hard drive an I once again get e68 errors. I wanted to know if there is any way to recover all my
information saved on this external hard drive if it can't connect to the xbox?

:)

3. How many GBs do you have left?
31.8gb free on my Xbox 120gb hard drive.

75gb free of my PS3 120gb hard drive.

1.08tb free on my PC put of 1.5tb of space.
As far as xbox goes about the same for me (40ish GB left on a 120 GB). Don't know how people fill up the 320 GB hard drives on their consoles.

5. Thank you for the suggestion, but that was the first page I tried. It gave me very good instructions on how to remove my hard drive and get my Xbox to work properly. But when I tried to put the hard drive bad in I got the E68 error again. I believe my hard
drive needs to be replaced.

My only real question for this forum is there any way to recover my save data from this hard drive that is no longer working with my Xbox? Thanks.

6. Unless you also have your saved games saved to the cloud or an other external USB device there is no way to recover it if your harddrive is damaged

Sent in console for repairs and still not fixed

The E68 error message is an error code for hard drive failure. There is nothing wrong with your xbox, the hard drive has gone kaput. Only way to fix that is to go and get a new one and pop it in, problem solved.

And no, you cannot save the data off the bad drive and attempt to transfer it over to the new one, if your drive is in such bad shape that it is giving off the E68 error code, there's no recovering it. On the bright side it will make for a good paperweight
or door stopper...

E68 Error on 250Gb HDD

Hi there,

-

When ever a hard drive is causing a E68 error, it's unlikely that any save files on that hard drive can be recoverd by any supperted ways.

As mentioned on the link
support.xbox.com/.../error-codes
which describes the E68 error, the only thing to do is to get a different hard drive.
