E3 2014 and Next Gen console games

So I notice as I'm sure most of you have that most games being released today have two versions one version for next gen consoles and one for last gen consoles. My question is do you think E3 will be laden with more or less of these types of duel releases
being announced? And how long do you think the duel gen releases will continue?

There is some. But we are getting bottom of barrow for this gen of games. When E3 i have no question we will see next gen game in trim of next wave of 360 games. And the frist waves of games that will expaned from relaese of 720 to the day or week before

who knows, it would be a moronic belief that neither Sony or MS have the Next "next" Gen Console being worked on now behind the scenes, but 2014...a good year and time frame for the next line up of consoles to start being thought of at E3.

 

As I posted in the MK thread, with a combined total of over 160 million units, the Xbox 360 and PS3 still have a huge fan base, if I was a developer I would want a slice of that too, I see it being a trend for a good while yet, unless the game is not possible
on the last gen, I'm sure we'll see a few of those.

 

I can see strong developer support for the 360 lasting at least a couple of years into this cycle, perhaps more. Without a consensus "must have" game, a lot of people are holding on to their consoles, picking up cheap games they missed. Devs are not going
to ignore that market if they don't have to.

 

Understandable that MS would want to make money off all of those consoles they sold. but at the same time they have to be careful not to undermind their own next gen console adopters by offering up games not built for the next gen console.

 

They said the 360 had a 10 year life cycle, so I'd imagine when ms stop making the 360 Devs will stop supporting it.

 

Microsoft said they will support the 360 for the next 2 years. So expect this kind of stuff.

 

The more developers, make for new gen, and out source the old gen the other companies the better it is for new gen IMO.

 

Companies like Rocksteady (Batman: Arkham Knight) are starting to move away from last Gen.

EA Sports has split its NHL game into Versions (Old Gen/New Gen) for 2014.

I think 2 years sounds about right for support.

At E3 2015 you'll see more games for just the X1 and PS4 and a lot less for the 360 and PS3.

 

Out with the old and in with the new, I say - but then again, it's easy for me to say because I already have the next-generation console. It may not be so easy for others.

 

Agreed GG, and with the kinectless console a hundred bucks cheaper hopefully that will change.

 

Dual, not duel.

I see no reason to believe that releases will not continue to support the previous generation for at least another year, if not two. PC gamers have been living with "enhanced" versions of 360/PS3 titles for years. Next gen consoles are now in the same boat,
it doesn't mean they won't see the benefits of better assets and larger levels.

 

Although I agree with Ice, nothing IMO that is on the XO, has been designed with XO as the main focus, no game really takes full advantage of the XO's full capabilities.

 

I do understand why devs/publishers still support last gen system.

The only thing that upset me,is that devs/publishers doesn't really support next gen console with their cross gen games.They just upgrade the visual quality that's all.No additional contents,no larger map on open world games,ect....As far as i know only
Battlefied 4 got different versions.
