    E105 Issue


    I bought an Xbox One X back in April, and on its first boot I got the E102 error, forcing me to restart the system several times before it finally started up properly. It was then ok for a day before I then kept getting E105 errors on bootup and games crashing
    on a regular basis.

    I went through all the steps such as power cycling, reset to factory settings etc but in the end, i brought it back for a refund.

    I decided to give it another try this month and bought one from a different retailer - same E102 error on first boot and occasional E105 when powering up. I use power saving mode, switch off the power to the socket when not in use, it's fully updated, have
    wifi connection and have an external hard drive connected - is there something I'm doing wrong? Does this console have power issues if not always plugged in? I have an Xbox One that uses the same hard drive with no issues whatsoever and for this to happen
    twice makes me think it's something other that the internal hard drive failure that most online posts suggest.

    I've tried all those steps - the external drive works fine with my xbox one so I see no reason why it would have issues with the X. Would wifi connectivity prevent the console from actually booting up when the console is fully up to date?

    The power outlet is just a twin socket on a wall - the other one was used for my original xbox one and had no issues.

    Hi there try plugging an Ethernet cable into the xbox make sure your connected to the internet the try a factory reset, you have to make sure the firmware is the newest version also try disconnecting the external hard drive temporary while you do the reset
    and leave the external drive detached. Do this and use your console normally if the console is fine after this then you may have a faulty external drive hope this helps :)

    Keep getting startup error e105

    Hi there,

    E105 is a HDD issue unfortunately. Reach out to MS to setup a repair ticket, thats what I did when I had the issue with E105 on my X and they fixed it right up.
