E105 00000000 8007045D Error and Issues with Cloud Saves

Unfortunately last night, my XBOX One X experienced the dreaded E105 00000000 8007045D error again. It did this in December as well, while it was still under warranty but after repeated restarts and unplugging it for a few minutes completely it did finally
restart. The console has been having issues with cloud saves for months often asking for all save data to be deleted just to be resynched, which appears to be a common issue associated with the E105 error above.

Last night, repeated restarts and unplugging did not help. Resetting the XBOX also brought in an E102 error at times, though I did not write it down. Thankfully, after repeated attempts the XBOX did finally reset and work again.

The consensus online appears to be that this is a hard drive issue? Can someone confirm this, as replacing the hard drive would possibly be a cost-effective way to fix this.

Microsoft Support was of no help. They read me back the knowledge base article I already followed and suggested it it happens again I can try the offline software update. I fail to see how that makes any difference unless it includes some sort of tool that
also reformats the HDD and possibly fixes corrupted sectors.

What I'm most disappointed with is that I'm convinced MS can see in the background the repeated cloud save issues I've been having and previous E105 error which happened all while the device was still under warranty. Warranty expired 2/16/2020 and the helpful
tech told me a repair would be $300.

In short, has anyone found a definitive cause and fix for this issue aside from the troubleshooting steps on the XBOX support website? All and any help is appreciated.

Sorry for your trouble cjw81,

is your XBOX using the original hdd still? What I have seen with the above mentioned error on startup - is to leave the system running until the XBOX briefly flashes the white led on the console and finishes all pending drive activity (all together maybe
20 min). Then resart the console from the error screen. I have see this error as well on brand new drives without any defects.

I appreciate your feedback, AquarrzSudnnym, but there is nothing wrong with my Internet connection.

The issue is hardware related, likely due to a failing hard-drive and the partition where cloud saves are stored locally.

While I did link the issue happening last time to a recent S/W push, and this one also appearing with the recent S/W push, I don't think it's directly related since both S/W versions worked for a while and updates are constantly pushed in the background.

If the issue happens again, I'll try the OSU but don't expect that to help. Once this error code comes up, the consensus appears to be the console is on the way out.

The not-so-friendly folks at MS XBOX phone support offered me a $300 repair, which is curious because they couldn't tell me what is wrong with the console but can quote me a price on the repair.

Hello Sayann but unfortunately that is not a helpful answer. I already mentioned that I've used the troubleshooter and the issue is clearly present, underlying, and will return even if it did fix it yesterday.

I'd like to understand what is causing it and what might actually help fix it.
