    E.S.O

My has the PC version and did the main store fairly quickly, and the bigger battles can be to one sides for it to keep his interest, he played it solidly for 10(ish) days (so I guess he's had his moneys worth), but hasn't really been back. I am sure he
will go back to it when he wants an MMO fix.

  3. Future price gouging? This price model for mmos has been around a very long time.

Not on XBL. For a very long time (read as since the birth of XBL), people have paid 1 price, to 1 online gaming service provider, for any & all online games they wanted to play.
The 1 and only exception, if memory serves, was Shadow Run... (which I didn't buy into) and look how long it lasted.

I paid 14.99/month for swg and wow way back when they launched and paid 60 for the software.

People keep trying to make this direct comparison between online PC games and XBL... and quite simply... you cannot. You cannot compare a 2 tiered payment model to a 3 tiered one
and say "this price model has been around for"... they aren't the same price model, no matter how many people say it, or how many times they say it. Online PC gaming requires you to have internet access and pay their sub. That's 2 payments. Xbox online requires
you to have internet access and pay your XBL sub to play online. That's 2 payments. Along comes ESO and says you now have to pay their sub in addition. My common sense is tingling.

I'm surprised the price hasn't went up.

I'll be more surprised if it isn't F2P in a short time.

Micro transactions in f2play mmos is where the price gouging is.

Not if they do it right. Providing content that only changes aesthetics would be acceptable (IMO) and wouldn't keep someone from having what they need to stay competitive and/or
    complete tasks in the game.

I wouldn't even mind if they required a 'gate fee' for any new content they added. At least then I'd have a choice of what and how much I am willing to pay to play. I'd also have
a choice of what content I felt would be worth the investment as opposed to just keep paying and hope I like what they put out.

It will go free to play on PC too. It's rubbish. There's nothing special about this game that warrants demanding the subscription.

I have played blacksite and warframe on the Ps4 without buying anything , have done ok, and enjoyed it .

If any content interests me , I may buy it ...or maybe not ....I prefer to have the choice .

@Blue you make great points. But honestly how big is the number of users who dont already have internet access, XBL gold and want ESO? IMO you shouldnt take into account the costs of what you already subscribe to when factoring in the ESO fee. You would
be paying that regardless. Thats not saying I approve of the fee because I dont. I just find it funny when people complain when they shouldnt. If you are already gold you dont have a right to complain, because clearly you saw enough value to subscribe before

  7. @Blue you make great points. But honestly how big is the number of users who dont already have internet access, XBL gold and want ESO?

I'm a consumer who has a budget to adhere to. Just because this comes from my disposable income, doesn't mean it has any less value to me. Speaking from that aspect, I could care
less how many others do or don't already have internet access, XBL and want ESO... and I shouldn't have to.

IMO you shouldnt take into account the costs of what you already subscribe to when factoring in the ESO fee. You would be paying that regardless.

Very well... in that case, we can factor out what I already pay for and set that to 0, just for argument's sake. In that case I play, or have played, every game I own right now
(and it's a long list between 360 and X1) for 'free'. Now ESO wants me to pay $15/month just to do what many, many other games charge me absolutely 'nothing' to do. Sorry, that still doesn't make it sound any less ridiculous.

Thats not saying I approve of the fee because I dont. I just find it funny when people complain when they shouldnt.

I find it funny when people try to defend a greedy practice when they shouldn't.

If you are already gold you dont have a right to complain, because clearly you saw enough value to subscribe before hand

I am already gold... I've never once complained about having to pay my gold sub and I do see plenty of value in it. However, that value is lost if/when a dev tells me I will have
to pay a sub to play their game online, on top of the XBL sub that I pay to play online... that's just silly. This is not, nor has it ever been, about the cost of my XBL sub. I have every right to complain and unless some judiciary action tells me otherwise,
    I will.

Been playing for a month and a half, great game IMO, well worth the pocket change to play. There sure is a lot of people playing this game, if your playing SP and need help just wait a few minutes and someone will be doing the same quest.

I was going to get it on PC until I found out that to get the Imperials you had to fork over more money by buying the collectors edition.

It's like Angry Joe said....it's like they're getting their money up front before the inevitable happens.
