E-mail recovery for gamertag

The e-mail address tied to the gamertag with your son's data needs to be accessible to transfer it to a new e-mail. If it isn't, there's no way for it to be switched.

Since you used a new e-mail (Microsoft Account), a new gamertag was created. If you follow the download profile steps and the e-mail/password combination doesn't work, you'd need to contact support for the e-mail provider to see if recovery is possible somehow.

If you cannot access the e-mail that's currently associated with the gamertag you wish to change the e-mail of then you will need to fill out the Microsoft Account Recovery form located
here.

As far as I know, that is the only other way once you lose access to the e-mail itself and cannot change the e-mail from the console. In order to change the e-mail yourself you need to have access to the e-mail currently on file.

If your friend doesn't know the e-mail associated with his account then he would need to contact phone support as long as he has the gamertag and can provide the information that phone support asks, then they will be able to provide him with the e-mail. You

Once you have the e-mail, if you do not know the password that can be reset by visiting this page
here. If you cannot reset the password either then you would need to fill out the Microsoft account recovery form to change the e-mail to something else so it can actually

The only other "extra" password that was ever setup by the user is a passcode that's needed (4 digits) to connect to LIVE. This is a passcode that is deleted when downloading your profile again. There is no other "extra" password used.

If your friend has a parental e-mail associated with his gamertag then that e-mail would need to be used to agree to the terms first (same process as above if you do not know the e-mail contact support, if you know the e-mail and not the password then you reset
it, if you can't do either then you fill out the recovery form).

@xbox360italy - The user can't get to that portion of the console if they a.) can't recover their gamertag, b.) can't actually accept the terms of use.

Yeah. If your current E-mail is not linked to a gamertag you will be able to set up your current gamertag with that e-mail.
