e-Mail no longer exists, what to do next?

The e-mail address tied to my Microsoft account no longer exists. It was very old, I never used it, and I am assuming it was deleted by Yahoo because I did not log into it for years.

I was using the "I want to change the Microsoft Account email associated with my GT" steps that I found on these forums, but when I got to the step about creating a new Microsoft account, I stopped. I would rather not create a new one for several
reasons. I would just simply like to change the primary e-mail address associated with my Microsoft account.

I do have my current e-mail address listed under the "Protect your account" page. However I cannot make it my
primary alias since, as found under the "Manage your account aliases" page:
For security reasons, you need to verify your primary alias before you can add another alias. Obviously I cannot do this, as the e-mail address no longer exists.

Signing Into XBOX Live Account

We recently moved and needed to change our e-mail address. Our old e-mail no longer exists so we can no longer sign into our XBOX Live Account or simply reset the password. Is there any way to update our e-mail without reseting the XBOX and losing all
of its content?

If that old e-mail no longer exists, create a new e-mail and change the WLID on the Xbox LIVE account to the new e-mail.

You should contact phone support for more assistance with changing the email address associated with the account. They should be able to help out with this.
