Dynamic wallpaper?

I was trying to find a new wallpaper and with the NXOE you really can't put anything with a picture without it getting covered up so I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to have dynamic wallpaper? Maybe smoke, bubbles, water ripples, etc. Nothing too graphically
intense, just subtle.

@Dark Maximilian (the guy who made the video) has played the heck out of Killer Instinct. I'm not sure if he is the tournament player that Double Helix has on staff for development but he has been playing KI extensively since the public has got their hands
on it. He even ran a set with FilthieRich (the former community manager for Namco) and it really showed how the game could be played when people start to take it to the lab. CCCCOMBO BREAKERS everywhere. It was hype.

It's not too hard for them to do in a fighter game really, there's only a limited amount of events, such as player speeding up, player stopping (which could be done with a timer and some loops) and switching it out I'm not too sure how they do that in real-time
but I'd imagine it's the same sound editing really using cross-overs and fades.

I can see why they can do this in this instance, as it wouldn't really take away from the development time, there won't be too many events to script and instances.

In a much bigger and complex game you can see why they opt to switch out soundtracks because to have the sheer amount of soundtracks to this would be time consuming, then development costs and time come into play (so they will have more epic songs for when
the player is in combat, more intense music with more contrast and beats per minute to get the players heartbeat going). I don't really see it as a major leap though, they can probably store a lot of soundtracks in an array, and reference different kinds of
arrays such as if the player is in combat, if the player has done a combo and then switch out the music.

It does add a different dimension to games though, and it's pretty interesting because this kind of thing would be handled locally by the game engine so its catered to each player if this was in an MMO, one thing that this has got me thinking about actually
is developers can now add achievements post release in the Cloud.

Also the game updates in the background as you play, no interference, it would be pretty interesting if they put in new soundtracks and things post release to keep the game fresh (won't happen realistically as that would cost money and after release achievements
are much easier to publish than producing new content).

It's nice that people are noticing the small details though and I guess these people have really had some solid hands on with Killer Instinct to notice that, as someone just coming to a booth at Gamescom or Pax for instance wouldn't really notice this from
a quick game.

I put so little time into by dashboard its still just a background colour.

 

Would be kinda cool but lets be honest, even with the new dashboard its still cluttered and you can barely see what in the back unless you move side to side really fast over and over.

 

Great Idea! I hope this can be implemented at no cost to us.

 

That sounds awesome. I frequent image boards nightly just for stuff for my Xbox One background.
