Dying Light - WTF with the button mashing?

Why do developers feel the need to put A-button mashing just to open a door? you have to do it super quick and continues until the generally the lift doors open or the switch boxes lid comes off? I hate them with a passion, ive completed the game
now and gone thru 2 stylus pens mashing the A button. You use the x button once to open normal doors and lockboxes so please why button mashing? Its pointless, frustrating and ridiculous.

Download a game and won't let me play in

Did you purchase Dying Light: The Following (which is just an expansion for Dying Light) or did you actually purchase Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition (which is Dying Light and the Expansion)? It kinda sounds like you have just purchased the
expansion and would still need to purchase the main game.

 

I only hate this when I go from a game where you can just walk through the door to one that requires a button, I'll be running into the door for a good 10 seconds before remembering this game requires a button push or mash.

Other than that, it doesn't bother me too much, haven't played dying light myself.

 

Hasn't bothered me yet, better than QTE's.

 

I do kind of find it annoying. I guess it's their way of making the game more "interactive".

 

This never bothered me tbh, it's not like you need to do it for long or very fast.

 

It's never bothered me either.

On Dying Light it's not that you have to do it on every door, unless I've missed loads of doors lol
