Dying Light Cancelled on 360 & PS3

What PC gamers don't understand is that more money is made by making games for consoles than if they only ever made them for PC. It is why Developers like DICE moved the BF franchise to Console with BadCompany. Someone within DICE said a long time ago that
they wouldn't exist if they only made for PC.

I was playing FPS back in those days on the PC (before old age took my twitch reflexes) and that's not the way I remember it. Counter-Strike and it's mods had a much larger player base than the BF series, they took BF to where there was less competition.
Valve did it better than Dice especially when you factored in the open source of CS, options were limitless.

Steam alone has a 100 million users and there are genres of games that don't sell well on the console yet thrive on the PC without any console sales.

 

I assumed that this would be to concentrate on the current gen version.

I fully agree that more developers should be doing this, the 360 is truly done now in regards to new AAA games. Well, in my opinion anyway.

 

Yes of course some games have bigger followings, but PC gamers believing they exist in large numbers. I have a Steam account and have never bought anything. Do away with developing for 360 and PS3 the quicker people will start to buy newer consoles. If you
removed consoles all together you will find that the majority do not move onto PC gaming nor will you get more or varied games, you are likely to get less or just more free to play junk.

 

@ Rippen complete rubbish the games on next gen are way to heavily priced. While they stay that way people will either make do with what they have or contemplate PC. You can't force people to upgrade by restricting new games for their devices.

Catch 22 situation, drop prices sell more! The only other problem is specs, people still see the XBOne the lesser powerful of the two and that's simply not going to go away not today or tomorrow.

It's funny people say last gen is holding the new gen back! Last gen had Blu Ray this gen has Blue Ray you can only squeaze so much data on Blue Ray before you start to run out of space.

 

360 is the past people not willing to upgrade will just need to realize that games will not continue to be made for that system one day.

The sooner the better IMO cause they can't keep making the same game twice just because some hoarders won't let go of the past!

Wrong. It's up to the developers to actually make games that make it worth buying a new generation console for.

I am not buying a new gen console in the hope games I want will eventually turn up on it. The console has to prove itself first....in the form of actual great AAA+ new gen games.

 

@ WildChameleon, it's only overpriced if you shop at Gamestop or Tesco etc. I'm buying my games online this gen and I'm getting them cheaper than 360/PS3 games. I can buy Alien Isolation online right now for 38 euro. That's not overpriced.

Do you think Nintendo 64 games would still get made if everyone cried about it back in the day and throughout the years. That was an great system but like all dynasty's it met it's end of all things produced for it. Just like the 360 will in the near future.

Stop holding onto the past, put your support , "IE" your money and show the developers it's worth their time to put the effort out it takes to make a super game.

 

Buy gold, do something! Support your community.

Like I got a classic collection of PS2 games. Nothing wrong with having a collection of old gen games.

Actually it is. If I bought an Xbox One at launch....I would have paid £430, had a useless device I have zero interest in and it would have spent the last year being a dust collector due to no games of interest.

But since then its undergone 2 price cuts, got rid of that rubbish novelty device and had a bunch of new system updates. And if what I am hearing is true, they are going to have another price cut and a new bigger hard drive is going to be released. And if/when
I do get the Xbox One when a true quality game does come out....it will be a brand new shining console. That is WINIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!!

No because the GameCube followed on from the N64 and eventually produced quality games that justified buying it. Something PS4 and Xbox One have yet to do.

It's not about "holding onto the past".....it's about developers impressing me to the point of investing in a new console. Which will no doubt happen eventually when Rockstar Games (peace and fortune be upon them) and Bethesda spread their love. Did not
get the Xbox 360 until 2007.

If you are talking about Microsoft then they have had plenty of support from me over the last 7 years and still yet more to come. With 360 and the new Windows 10 next year which I will no doubt get as my current PC is on its way out. Microsoft will be getting
plenty of coin from me!

 

360 didn't have Bluray. Um yes you can just stop making big games for 360 and people will move on. Stop banging on about price of games. They are nearly the same price as they have been on previos gen.

 

I aint paid over 44.99 from any xbox one game unless i bought online store but thats the cost of going digtal and not being able to shop around most expansive game i ever bought was cod on 360 now they know how to over charge for a game

 

Think most of my games I bought on the Xbox One have been under 30 pounds

I have no idea where you get your information. There are 6 million people currently on Steam ( you can even see which games they are currently playing) . You only seem to apply your logic when you're discussing removing support for last gen consoles rather
than removing consoles all together.

The PC already has more varied games. If you removed all consoles and exclusives today I guarantee you the vast majority of console gamers would be hooking up laptops/desktops to their TV, buying wireless controllers and gaming as usual.
