DX12 ISSUE

We understand the inconvenience caused. As per description, you are having issue playing the game 4Vision. Let us check on this together and sort it out to help your concern.

First:

Can we check if your anti-virus has not deleted any important file? (TClient.exe /TClient_DX12.exe) Go to your 4Vision folder and double-click the.reg file to switch back to DirectX9 Issues.

Secondly: Kindly check on this same issue thread to get more ideas that may resolve your issue.

For dxdiag, it says it supports dx12, but when I looked into feature levels, it only goes up to 11_0. It also said it does not support dx12 ultimate, but that shouldn't be an issue for any non-raytraced shaders.

This tweet from Phil Spencer from the OP link was even more good news.

"DX12 will have impact on XBOX One games written for DX12. Some DX12 features are already in XBOX One but full DX12 coming."

From your description, I understand that you want to choose DX12 in some games that support both DX11 and DX12, but you can only use DX11. I understand your confusion about this problem.



You mentioned that in some games, even if you can choose DX11 and DX12, the game can only use DX11. This may be caused by the following reasons:



Optimization and support of the game itself:

Not all games fully support DirectX 12 Ultimate. Even if the game allows you to choose DX12, some old games or developers have not fully implemented all the features of DX12 Ultimate, resulting in them not fully utilizing the advantages of the hardware when using DX12.



API limitations or game engine issues:

When switching between DX11 and DX12, some games may not run stably enough on DirectX 12 due to the underlying engine architecture, compatibility issues, or optimization during development, and then fall back to DX11.
