Dx12 changes to xbox one

In a recent tweet, Spencer has flagged that DX12 won't be a massive change on Xbox one but it will give some help for developers.

Up to this day i thought it will help stabilize frames since it is supposed to optimize the CPUs, am not sure at this stage what it will offer.

any thoughts?

This tweet from Phil Spencer from the OP link was even more good news.

"DX12 will have impact on XBOX One games written for DX12. Some DX12 features are already in XBOX One but full DX12 coming."

 

Link for tweet? I think what you are referring to is the June XDK which not the DX12 push.

I agree tzar,,why can't we just be happy with what it is !

The games look and play far better than the ones from last generation ..The end!

 

Tzar, freed this is not a complaint thread don't turn it into one and it is not about how games look. the only question i had it is on what kind of improvements ppl think it will bring, my 2 cents were on the frame rates.

Fair enough ,, guess i don't know the answer .

I just think the progression of the one will be like that of the 360 ,,and that was great.

 

If you look at what DX12 is and does, visuals are only one aspect of a program, so he's not wrong.

 

That Twitter feed can be construed many different ways. First you don't know who the initiator is (if it's not you) so you don't know what he was referring to. If he is a developer then it could mean DX12 isn't going to change the way they develop games
(this is more likely than not IMHO). IE the UI used isn't changing much. Someone on that feed says Twitter is a bad medium for technical discussions and they are 100% correct.
