DVR isn't picking up audio input from my microphone

I'm using the windows 10 xbox DVR to record gameplay. While it records other output voices it does not record input voices on the dvr such as my own. Is this a bug or are you just not allowed to record your own voice. And yes my computer's able to
run the app and games perfectly fine.

Not able to record microphone with Game DVR

My friend has the option to record his microphone in Game DVR, but I don't. I have 2 connected and working microphones, one is a compression mic and one is from my Razer headphones, the only option is to record game audio, no option for microphone. Any help?

Does the xbox one split 5.1 from hdmi out through optical?

My receiver has optical inputs, but no HDMI (it's older, I know). If I were to plug my FiOS DVR into the HDMI input on the xbox one, will it split the audio off from that HDMI input and transmit it through the xbox one's Optical output? I'm hoping to avert
the need to switch audio inputs manually when the xbox one switches from gaming to tv mode. Thanks in advance!

Since you've designated it to only record game audio, I'd first take a look at your sound options in the game. inputs/outputs. See what it's set to output to. You can check those outputs in the Playback and Recording tabs in the Sound option from control
panel. Might need to designate a seperate line for YouTube/browser playback than Battlefield V, or a seperate device to play music entirely.

Then again, it is possible that the playback is being picked up by the Microphone, in which case you'd have to work on directional mics or headphones to prevent that sound from playing via the mic.

Past that, I'd take a look to make sure your audio drivers are up to date.

Any/All audio goes through my headset and It's to clear to be going through my mic (that isn't even plugged in). It's set to record just game audio, but I think the DVR is considering YT a game.

Also, I don't know what drivers specifically I should update, not to mention that Windows says my drivers are up to date

I have not been able to use it on my xbox, it wont pick up any audio from my sf-666 condenser microphone

I have adjusted the both settings ("set time zone automatically" was not originally on),hit the sync button and then restarted,

however I still can not talk in party.

If this helps, In the audio tab on the Xbox game bar, the bar under "windows default input" it is showing that it is picking sound up through my microphone.

All drivers on the controller and console are updated, I don't know how to check for headset drivers via Xbox. As for mixers, the headset only comes with a simple audio output control, and microphone mute, both of which haven't been messed with (as in,
the microphone isn't muted, and changing the slider doesn't affect microphone input).
