    DVR Internal Storage Deadline?!


    So I went to my DVR today to discover all of my screenshots and videos have gone (and yes, I selected the filter for 'on this xbox' DVR Internal Storage Deadline?! ;) ). I don't upload mine to OneDrive because I don't have a great connection speed and my harddrive has loads of space. Interestingly,
    my dashboard background - which was a screenshot I'd taken with DVR - was fine, but after my Support Contact had me reset my console, I lost that too!

    I searched about online and found the occasional reference to this happening to others but with no progress in the dicsussion. During my chat with Support, it came out that the Upload Studio has a deadline for internal storage? I.E. if you don't upload within
    a set time, it just deletes stuff, apparently without warning. So yes, my stuff is gone for good. Am I the only one that thinks that's ludicrous? To not even be informed? Luckily I'd only used it for one game so far, but I'm pretty gutted all the same.

    Apart from sharing my discontent with this feature, I'm wondering if anybody knows how long exactly the Studio will keep clips, and if there's another way to save them permanently to the console without having to upload constantly? Thanks.

    xbox 360s wont recognize internal storage. went to settings then storage, says unformatted, tried to format nothing happens. tried to reset to default, then run setup, system update says not enough storage space. any help please.

    internal storage limitations

    ok i have a few problems with the xbox one s that are really stupid on microsofts control of what you are allowed to do on your system.

    the main problem is with a 500GB hard drive you are only alotted under 5gb for storage of video and audio and such but i only bought it to use for movies and 4k stuff. has anybody figured out how to get past the 5gb limit?

    im unable to use an external hdd and usually only store a little on flash drives and cant have them hanging out of system for long periods (kids) so any help would be great.

    How you checked you have enough space on the internal HDD?

    Do you have an external HDD attached?

    Do you upload on the DVR I beleive know there is a specific amount of storage allocated to each persons Xbox DVR storage. Once you are at the maximum any new recorded clips will cause the oldest unsaved
    ones to be deleted.

    AFAIK, game dvr saves are stored in the reserved part of the internal HDD. That internal storage space is limited so to allow extended clips the option to use an external HDD was added however it can only be used with an NTFS formatted HDD. An NTFS formatted
    HDD cannot however be used to save games and apps which need an Xbox format so you will need to chose between the two usage cases or add a second external HDD if you wish to have both external games/apps storage and game dvr clips.
