DVI Monitor 'No Signal Detected' Issue

I've bought a Forza 6 Limited Edition Xbox One the other day, and been trying to get it to work with my PC monitor ever since, with no luck.

The monitor is a 24" 1920x1080 BenQ BL2410PT and has DisplayPort, VGA and DVI ports. Naturally, I used a HDMI to DVI cable to hook the Xbox up, but I got a 'No Signal Detected' message on the monitor. So I went and searched some forums for some answers.
At this point I've tried everything I found about this problem on the web, none of them fixed my issues. I connected the Xbox to a TV to be able to access the display settings. I set the output to DVI as mentioned in the official support article, but it didn't
help. I then started to change the other settings, too, to see if I get lucky with one of them, and eventually I tried out every possible combination of the settings in the display setup menu (resolution, output, color space, 50Hz). None of them gave me a
picture on my PC monitor. It's not the cable either, since I use the same cable to connect the HDMI output of my PC to the monitor, and it works perfectly.

I'm getting really desparate. There's no way that the monitor is not compatible, since it's a 2 year old modern Full HD monitor.

    :)

DVI to HDMI Adapter for Monitor was working, but now isn't...

    Hey all,

So I've been using an HDMI to DVI adapter since December 2015 to play my Xbox One on my Dell Monitor, and it's been working great until this past week when my monitor no longer detected a source on my DVI input (it goes into Energy Saving sleep mode). When
I unplug my HDMI cable, the monitor changes and says it detects no input. Here's my setup -

HDMI cable from Xbox One into Female end of HDMI-DVI adapter

HDMI-DVI adapter plugged into DVI port of my monitor

To troubleshoot the issue, I've tried a new HDMI cable, new adapter, and a different monitor, all to no avail. I checked if it was my Xbox One by plugging it into a friends HDMI-compatible monitor, and it worked just fine on his monitor, then came back to
mine and same issue - no detection.

I doubt it's an update, because my Xbox isn't connected to the internet (I know this is a mass sin, using DVI and no Internet for such a powerful system, but the school I'm at is Draconian in it's internet security).

So, I'm stuck with buying a new HDMI monitor to play my system - but in the interest of pinching some more pennies I thought I would open up the question here first.

    Any help is much appreciated!!

    Converted Signal not outputting

Hello everyone, not sure where this goes so i posted here, i have a BenQ G2220HD 21.5" monitor which supports full 1080p HD, my Xbox Component cables to plug into my Roxio Game Capture, a Component to HDMI Converter, and a HDMI to DVI-D cable, i connect
these all together in the order - Component Cable - Roxio - Converter - Monitor (HDMI to DVI-D Cable), and i get No Signal, but when i use my xbox's HDMI out with the HDMI to DVI-D cable, i get my full 1080P display.

Note: Its a black signal, not No signal.

Also, if this wont work, will the HDFury Gamer Edition work from the converter to my Monitor? Thanks in advance.

    PCM audio over HDMI

This doesn't seem to work. Something I've got wrong sorry, is it's actually outputting to DVI as I'm going from HDMI to a DVI monitor so it's detecting the DVI connection not the HDMI signal.

    : dashboard/settings/display: DVI+A ? What means..

Hi there, DVI-Analog (DVI-A) is known as DVI-A cables which carry a high-quality analog signal however DVI-A is NOT compatible with DVI-D configurations please refer
to the microsoft agents article on configuring audio options.

DVI A ("DVI-A are used to carry a DVI signal to an analog display, such as a CRT monitor or budget LCD. The most common use of DVI-A is connecting to a VGA device, since DVI-A and VGA carry the same signal. There is some
quality loss involved in the digital to analog conversion, which is why a digital signal is recommended whenever possible.")

I hope this information helps have a great day.

    Kind Regards

Xbox one to a VGA monitor?

If the monitor is HD it will have either a HDMI or DVI connector ... if not, and it just has a Dpin connector (vga) then it may be widescreen but not HD since that would be an analog signal. If it states it is 1080p and HD then it should have a DVI alternate
    connection available.

If you have DVI then a simple DVI/HDMI converter will work, but you are correct that it wouldn't support audio , but you could use the optical audio out to a receiver, or the box you have in the link should work to convert the digital signal to simple analog.
It looks like it only has a mini-connector though - do your speakers support that? or do they need RCA cables?

Monitors are pretty inexpensive now - you can get a HDMI compatible computer monitor with speakers for about $150+ (depending on size you want). May be worth the investment.

Question about Connecting Xbox to PC monitor

You should consult your monitor's user guide. Whatever the monitor would default to will be its source, Generally, I would say that whatever signal is received first will be used by the monitor. For me, if I have two sources turned on (DVI and VGA), the
monitor will read whatever signal it received first. If I want the other signal, I manually change the input from the monitor's controls, or turn off the current source. Your monitors should have the ability to manually switch between inputs.

Need to connect Xbox One to computer monitor?

You can get HDMI to DVI cables as it's pretty much the same signal. But not HDMI to RGB without conversion and it doesn't look good.

Get a newer monitor. Your eyes will thank you for it.
