DVDs coming up with region code error

Blurays work fine, but everytime I try to watch a dvd it says that they are the wrong region. They are all US bought DVDs and work fine in my 360, PS3 dvd player etc. I tried support and they told me that the xbox one doesn't play DVDs or to return the unit.
Seems like pretty uninformed and lazy answers. Any way to change the region code or fix this?

Region Free

If a BD has no region coding then what is there to prevent it from playing?

Blu Ray & DVD App Problems

Having problems with playing DVD with this app I downloaded.

It keeps saying Region 2 discs not compatible with a Region 1 console.

Console was bought from Amazon UK, tried several other DVD but getting the same error.

Anyone else had problems with this?

There's no way to change the DVD region code of the console. It's also possible that the console could be from a country with a different DVD region code.

Just out of interest, what region are the DVDs you're trying to play? This info can be found on the back of the DVD case.

Hi Santos,

Thanks for coming to the forums. Unfortunately, the DVD will not be able to be played. The DVD and consoles all have region codes depending on what region you are in. For example region 1 is North America. While region 2 is Western Europe, the Middle
East, South Africa, and Japan. This is why it will not play. You need to get a DVD from your region.

On top of Daft Badger's correct answer I'd like to point out that stripping off the region code and burning a copy is technically piracy and could lead to jail time.

In forum,the people say that no illegal remove the region code because i haved already purchased the dvd and i dont want to make a copy.
