DVD Playback glitch

I just received a DVD set for the series Gundam Wing. The first disc loaded up fine and I hit "play all.". The disc should contain 8 episodes. It made it through the first four just peachy, then looped back the the first one (no, I did not accidentally
set up a loop point). When I tried to go through the main menu to episode 5, it just played episode 1 again. Now I can't get it to play anything except episode 1 even when I try to manually skip through chapters or fast forward. I have a suspicion this
might be some glitch having to do with the way the titles are formatted on the DVD (after receiving the set, I also have some suspicions it is a pirated copy, but I don't know for sure). Any ideas on how to reset or fix the issue?

That's how I got DVD playback working. But still no blueray playback

You would need the Xbox DVD Playback kit to play DVDs on the Orginial Xbox System.

 

Discs are discs...whether or not they're pirated is irrelevant. Test the DVD in another DVD playback device, such as a PC or a laptop. If the issuer persists, then it could be the DVD that's faulty. Generally counterfeit DVDs don't have holographic branding
on them. It could also be a problem with the DVD itself. Nothing on the Xbox's end, if your games are reading properly.

 

I put the DVD in question into my PC and it's playing all episodes with no problem, as well as navigating well through the menu. So it seems like the DVD isn't the problem... But all my game discs work well with my Xbox. I haven't tried any other DVDs
in the Xbox, so maybe I need to try some out and see if it's the actual DVD application.

 

PC DVD drives usually have error correction and other software that helps you play them. If you have another device that can play DVDs I would try that. The DVD playback in a 360 is basic at best. Your laser could also be dirty causing it to hiccup like
that.
